AEIOU by FREEZE - VYNIL NIGHTMARE

Does anyone remember it? It was mid 80's US.
I dropped it and now I can't find it on EBAY.
Any suggestions.

It's on eBay, but you're spelling everything wrong lol (it's "vinyl" for starters! wink )

Search Freeez I.O.U.

There's a few listed right now and they aren't expensive either!

The label is Streetwise and should look like this:

This is the earliest era in life I can recall. Breakdancing was everywhere (except in my neighborhood lol), but I remember the phenomenon in the music videos, random scenes in movies (like Flashdance), appearances by b-boy crews on morning shows, talk shows, headlines in the newspapers and magazine covers.

My 12 Inch has 1982 on it but I had never heard the song until the summer of 1983.

I love this track. It's strange that it is called "I.O.U" when they do sing "AEIOU"...

I'm sure that's why Rev couldn't find it in a eBay search.

Yeah, that was it. I still can't go to the basement and look at the record. It was such a clumsy mistake.

Thank so much Cinnie and everyone. I'll got check it out again.

This was a great time in my teenage years and this album had some pretty strong tracks on it.

Thanks again ORGers

Yeah, sometimes the Bay Area is late with these jams lol I first heard this song in early 1984.At the time, there were a ton of songs like this on the radio, such as
"I Remember What You Like" by Jenny Burton.

For me, the period between 1981-1986 was the best in terms of dance/funk jams, especially during the summer.

Wow..you remember me? biggrin But I don't know if I remember you. I was definitely at the March Vegas shows, I believe it was the 30th and 31st. Excellent shows. Now I am extremely curious as to who you are. You have to give me more of a description than telling me you were the short PR dude..did we speak at the show? I met quite a few people at that show that were familiar faces at other Prince shows.

For me it was 1980-1984. I hated a lot of 1985, 1986, and the rest of the 1980s until house music came above ground in 1989 with folks like Black Box and then the whole "dance music" explosion perked things up for about two or three years. Those late 1980s were polluted with too much stuff like Shitney Houston, Freddie Jackson, Anita Baker, Mikki Howard, and Regina Belle. An actual jam was becoming scarce.

My brother bought the 7" of "I.O.U." by country artist Lee Greenwood thinking it was the Freeez song. I laughed so hard. My brother was only nine years old at the time.

I don't know. We didn't even try to return it. It might still be sitting in my parents' house with their old 45s. lol
