Tom Waits is great. And taste is perhaps the most elastic/resilient force on earth.

Almost everyone, regardless of whether they spend 5 minutes or 80 hours a week on such a pursuit, thinks that they have it in unwavering abundance.

But I believe taste is like a muscle, you're born with them, but the more attention you give them, the more developed they become.

Or we can all become middle aged housewives who listen to nothing but gospel radio stations while doing chores and think that's the end all be all.

Because, after all, it's all we know. And strangely enough, what we know brings us joy.

And who can debate joy?
