She has some good stuff. Too bad she didn't hit as big as she deserved. I really liked "Raw", "Just Call My Name", "Can't Have My Man" and the remake of "Just My Luck". **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Yes, I've been bumping High Fashion's album, "Feelin' Lucky Lately" obsessively for the last month. It's a really good Soul/Post-Disco album. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

THIS IS A TUE STORY!!!!!
about 10 years ago (whenever NewpowerSoul came out), i went to see Alyson Williams at this small ass gay bar in DC. there were maybe 50-100 people there at $10 a pop . she sang to trax of course and had one costume change. she came out and sang "just call my name" in this leopard print outfit. okay cool...nice show, will never see this chickie again in life..... .. .. .. THE VERY NEXT NIGHT....me and my homeboy are at the Prince concert (the legendary DC Capitol Ballroom show, if anybody remembers). After teasing Mr Hayes about his ugly hair color (Heyyyy Dennnis !!! )...who comes walking in the room up to the VIP section but ALYSON WILLIAMS...in the same goddamn leopard outfit she just had on last night..i mean what are the odds.i just saw alyson williams two nights in a row with the same outfit on. CARRY ON.

I loved "I Need Your Lovin'" (with the ubiquitous Soul II Soul beat). “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Her style reminds me of Phyllis Hyman....especially the big hats Like Phyllis, she never really got the props and attention she deserved.
