This may be in the wrong forum..I have a friend that tells me that Princes' act is a carbon copy of Jackie Wilson...I have never heard of the guy...Does anyone have any footage or insight on how their styles are alike?

If there's any performer that is closer to stealing from Jackie, that would be MJ. MJ's stage performance (especially in the early 70s) was very similar to Jackie's and James Brown. MJ really observed their moves and stage presence.

Prince's act is closer to Sly and the Family Stone (especially during the days of The Revolution).

I'm a fan of Jackie Wilson and I don't see much Prince in him. In fact, I don't see much Michael either, but if there is any, it could probably be attributed to MJ's relationship with Berry Gordy and the fact that Jackie was tight with Berry in the early days of his career. I love the way Jackie hits those high notes,but mostly the way he dances while he's performing. You can tell he used to be a boxer.

dont see prince in it i do reconize michaels vocal style in it . great influence and great artist.
