The extended version is the best. hard 4 me 2 get in2 that one...its too long for its own good. I gotta c it live ....i hope he brings it to DVD I think it's cuz I like those orchestra hits that puctuate the "Why do I do the things I do? I'd tell you if I knew." They're not on the album version.

Is your rich concert buddy single and straight??? my rich concert 'buddy' is single...female...older...and, yes, straight. she picked up the air and hotel and i had to get the tix which is why the seats were less than stellar...i was in section 328, row 5. very top section on the side but close to the stage. where were you? wasn't the crowd awesome? what's this documentary we speak of? The documentary I mentioned in my previous post came out a few years ago and is called " A Different Story" ( sounds a bit like his song " A Different Corner") . I mean, if memory serves me right, it is called " A Different Story" but even though I recorded it from TV back then,I am not 100% sure about the title...could be slightly different. Some critics hated it for being nothing but a one and a half hour commercial for his albums but I found some of the negativity very harsh and ungrateful because I really, really enjoyed watching that documentary and I think it is a must-have and must-see for any George Michael fan. He comes across so nice and friendly and honest and outspoken that you just have to like him as a person and a musician. It contains a brief summary of the most crucial events in his life since the early 90s, his fight against Sony Records, the death of his friend and partner Anselmo, some insight into his music and his personal background, lots of driving and walking around in those northern parts of London where he grew up, some interviews with his friends ( including Andrew Ridgley ), some concert and videoclip and TV footage, etc.etc.etc. All in all, a great little documentary or homevideo to have and watch from time to time if you are into his music and want to know a little bit about the person behind the music. I like how he handles even touchy subjects quite well and the genuine feeling and atmosphere. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I was a bit disappointed with the show though..the effects were nice..but I think I am really spoiled with seeing so many Prince concerts..I wanted to actually see him play an instrument and show a bit of improvisation. But it was a must see show for anyone who is a fan of his early WHAM or later work. He really seemed to be in his element.
How was the crowd in Houston? Full? Dallas wasn't sold out, but definitely at about 85% and a really enthusiastic, giddy group of people. He said we were the best crowd yet. Funny you should say that. He mentioned how rowdy the Dallas crowd was throughout the entire show. He was really impressed with the level of support he received there. The crowd was so so..Houston is a strange bunch and the Toyota center can be dullsville at times by nature it seems. 1 over Jordan...the greatest since

the only GM-forums I know users aren't even allowed to post youtube links!! PlanetGeorge has great links. Youtube isn't really their thing there, but they have other ways "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

you just got me so psyched up with this thread! glad you had a great time!
my job reserved 4 great tickets for clients and the clients can't go, so now not only do i get to see the show but i get to go for free and with prime seats! i love almost all of his stuff but i especially NEED to hear: praying for time, fastlove, cowboys and angels, kissing a fool, freedom '90, and too funky. if i hear all or most of those songs, it'll be perfect! At my show he did all of these except praying for time and cowboys and angels. Also, Bboy, since you're the resident expert on GM can you tell me where I can find information on the band members and backup singers? They were really good and I'm curious about who they are. Not to mention, I kinda had a moment with one of his buffer-than-a-mug male singers. I just hope he likes girls. [Edited 7/18/08 20:55pm]
