Faith Evans' Tell-All Memoir, "Keep The Faith"

July 14, 2008

The much-talked-about Faith Evans “tell all” is finally set to make it’s debut in August.

Revealed earlier this year, the book which is to detail the highs and lows of the R&B singer’s life is also set to shed light on Evans’ controversial relationship with The Notorious B.I.G.

Although Evans’ has been quiet for the most part about the upcoming novel, she does say “My journey has been complicated on many levels. And since I am always linked to B.I.G., there are a lot of misconceptions about who I really am” of the memoir.

From the rumors of an affair with west coast icon Tupac to B.I.G’s rumored trysts with Lil’ Kim, Evans’ book is expected to in some ways close the chapter on years of heated debate about what really went on behind closed doors.

In the release for the book the singer says “B.I.G. never got a chance to tell his story. It's been left to others to tell it for him. In making the decision to tell my own story, it means that I've become one of those who can give insight to who BIG really was. But I can only speak on what he meant to me.”

According to Grand Central Publishing the 368-page book entitled "Keep the Faith: A Memoir" will be released August 29th, it is also available now for pre-order through online retailers.

Evans’ last album “The First Lady”was released in April of 2005 and has since been certified gold.

Of course. Her last album didn't perform that well, so she has to find a way to support her family. I knew she was strapped for cash when she released a christmas album.

I'm sure won't get that kind of story. I have a feeling that this book focuses on Faith, Biggie and Puff. I will probably also touch on Lil' Kim. As for recording, I don't expect that.

No doubt she is a great songwriter, but she hasn't written anything in a while. Come on, The First Lady didn't do that well. Sure, gold is a good thing, but she usually went platinum with Diddy.

I think Faith still get residual checks for writing songs on Mary J. Blige's My Life and also worked with Al B. Sure. I think she even wrote songs for 702 and people like that.

Then again, I don't know. I mean, I want her to explain why she ended up using cocaine and is she really clean.

Yes, I understand she still gets checks for her past work, but I'm sure "My Life" is still not selling a few hundred thousand copies a year?

I'm sure Faith has become accustomed to a particular lifestyle, therefore, she needs cashflow.

I wonder if she gets money from her late first husband's estate. True, BIG didn't record nothing but two albums during his lifetime but both albums sold well, I wonder if BIG's family gets rights to his material or does Puffy still control it?

See, I remember reading about that and I think that Biggie's mother gets the majority of the royalties from his back catalog. I know that Puff (used to) own half of the publishing rights to his work. He sold that to him before Ready To Die dropped.
