Does JOHN MAYER try to hard? first, I want to say that I AM a Mayer fan so Im not hating but Im just wondering..do you all think that he "tries" to hard? Do you think that he tries to hard to prove himself? do you think that he wants more credit for being a musician? | |

I don't think he tries too hard. Maybe he's a perfectionist and wants to improve his style of playing with each project. I do think he wanted to be taken more seriously as a musician and not be pigeon-holed as almost a teeny-bopper attraction like he was in the beginning. I think hanging out with blues musicians and taking the turn he has on the last two albums have been his attempt at being taken more seriously. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

He's an extremely talented musician, but he's sappy and douchy and about the most boring live act on the planet. When I saw him (on the tour with Counting Crows), I wanted to poke my eyes out with sticks. | |
