That's who you should be screaming at, Not parents, whether they are single or not, that take good care of their children.

Unless you are sitting their taking care of them personally yourself and raising them, and putting food in their mouths then you should not be so quick to judge.

Oh, and by the way, a parent on drugs or who decides to live a life of crime has absolutely nothing to do with their skin color/race, Taking drugs or leading a life of crime is based on the individual who made the decision to go that route.

Anyway, no one said a parent who doesn't take care of their child "is cute". You have children born out of single parent homes everyday, and it is a societal issue, not just a "black community issue", I just feel that society is the one stigmatizing single parents that take care of the children, many where the fathers are involved --just like Erykah's children's fathers.

I do however agree that more action should be taken to force deadbeat fathers to provide for their children, I will not disagree with that. My point is that you can't lump all single parents into one pot, and assume their children are not being taken care of or call their parents irresponsible, because their children have different fathers. Each situation is different.

Also, I'm not insulting you at all, just don't agree with some of what you stated. I have always been a firm believer in parents taking care of their children, whether they are married or not. So I am not ignoring the fact that within the black community we have many that don't live up to parental responsibility, but like I said, it's not just within the black community that this happens. This problem exists across the board...it's a societal issue, not just limited to the black community.

Getting back to Erykah, point is, she apparently takes care of her kids, and so do their fathers.

For both genders, and all races, married or not, multiple children by multiple partners, may be more about lack of love and respect for ones self.

We do not come into this life perfect and all-knowing. If we make mistakes the best we can do is learn from them and for many the biggest blessing out of a ‘failed’ relationship of any kind is the child born from it. If an individual loves and respects themselves they will more than likely make a good or great parent, with or without a partner.
