was that serious or are you just joking? wow what a blanket statement, don't you think it wold all come down to the individual situation case by case. that was erykah's whole point. making such a statement is so elitist, thats is like saying my family is perfect, you fucked up shame on you, my family has no flaws

What good does it do the world to ridicule this? If I had ten kids by ten men fuck everyone if I am taking care of them. Ok I kind of understand what the situation is. But I still have no clue who and where that Okay Player is. I must have missed soemthing...

I don't know her personally and I won't begin to imagine I understand, entirely, her private and personal situation, but to be honest, this {third child by a different father} smacks of irresponsibility.
I guess it's cool to tell people to mind their business in the fashion she did and she probably is a great mother - but, sigh, my culture pains me to death sometimes. If she was simply Erika Wright, living in the 'hood in Dallas and uttered the very same words she posted at okayplayer, she'd still be stigmatized as a careless ho. Stigmas are funny things, but.... ...it's none of my business, I try not to care about the private lives of artists, and I wish her the best.

I think the stigma comes with not taking care of your responsibility which she's obviously doing.

Speak on it They're ALOT of trifflin' married women with one child by one father who won't take ANY kind of care about their child. It really boils down to how you handle your business....1 or 10 kids. Beside, we got WAAAAAY bigger issues to deal with than what goes around inside Erica's "hole in the wall". Shit, judgement is such a wasted energy because NOBODY is perfect,,,,esp the ones who think she's "wrong", them mofos got graveyards in their closets.

It's an online community for hip-hop and alternative soul (or what some people call neo-soul). It was co-created by ?westlove from The Roots. A lot of neo-soul artists have official music web pages there, and even particpiate actively on the site from time to time. The site is about 8 or 9 years old now and has really deteriorated into some BS. It's a shame though, 'cause it wasn't always like that

Would she get less smack if she had had three abortions?
Did anyone ever consider that her children were planned? Did anyone consider that she does not believe in or adhere to traditional Western definition of marriage? She is by no means perfect but she is always striving to better, purposeful, and live within the highest part of herself and that includes creating, birthing and raising however many children she is blessed to have. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I've read this "rant" today on several different websites and this part never ceases to crack me up;
"if i loose you as a fan because i want to continue to have children then FUCK OFF... WHO NEEDS YOU ....CERTAINLY NOT ME ... KICK ROCKS ... CALL TYRONE ... PACK LIGHT .... BITE ME" I love that woman! and that quote is right up there with "do some hoe shit!" Erykah,is a great performer, a great songwriter, artist and free spirit.However, her situation most likely isn't the ideal situation for most,but as long and she and her kids are happy, then that's all that matters. And I've seen the other side with single mothers having baby after baby with differnent men and struggling to make ends meet, but that is not their situation so as long as no one is going hungry or lacking things that they need in life...who cares? It's all Peace and Love!!! I love you Erykah you're amazing!!!...keep doing your thang! [Edited 7/16/08 22:02pm]

Having kids my multiple men and women has gotten to be really bad in the black community. Its not cute. Its a bad habit that has gotten out of control. You don't need a souvenir (baby) from every man that you date.
