The Temptations: Emperors Of Soul Collection Is this a really good set?
Does anyone own it? Does it have a good booklet? I was thinking about buying it after buying the "Anthology" Motown Lp set from the 70's. It looks really good and it has some rareities on it. I recently heard the first 2 Temp albums and I was amazed   Straight Jacket Funk Affair

That box set is awesome man! Someone recommended me this set on this org a few years back and it was one of the best music investments I've made by far. It covers their entire output from the 1950's all the way to the 1990's. It also shows their versatility and transformations effortlessly than any Tempts collection assembled. Even though its a little overlong with 5 discs, it's still the definitive Tempts collection. Get it! Check me out and add me on:

Drop what u're doing and get it ASAP. It is one of the best boxed sets that I own. I also recommend The Master boxed set of Marvin Gaye's work. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I only have those 2 "Millennium/20th Century" collections that were released maybe about ten years ago at this point. I like the Temptations but not enough to upgrade just yet. Frankly, I'm more of a Spinners person. That will be something to consider, you know, when I really start working and making decent money. Thanks for mentioning it. [Edited 7/15/08 20:54pm] | |

[Edited 7/15/08 20:54pm] The Spinners are great, but they don't compare to the Tempts. The Tempts had better material (overall) than the Spinners. I'm not saying the Spinners didn't do some good work, they just don't compare.
