John Mayer Continum

Is there any reason why this album didn't get a real marketing push..There was only one video to my knowledge from the album..and you would think that a song like Belief would be have gotten a major push. Any insight?

I think it was because people did not really take this dude as a "real" artist, or very over rated. I think that he is one of the best out there, this album was a great album.

'Gravity' is one hell of a great song.

Despite not getting a huge marketing push, Continuum has done very well , selling over 2 million in the 90+ weeks its been on the charts so far. Of course "Waiting..." was huge . Gravity and Dreaming with a Broken Heart got some atttention and Say (which is now included on the re-release) is doing its thing now.

John is one of he few musical real talents out there today and Continuum almost 2 years later holds up as a great album . I would have loved to see Vultures or Belief pushed as singles.

Check out his new Live From New York album.... its great

Great musicianship! Perhaps a tad on the boring side, but the man has talent.

Probably because it isn't the same pop thing that his first two records were. It's much more mature album. I just heard it for the first time a month or so ago and it blew me away! Dude's really talented (in ways other than banging Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Anniston)

He's a really good player in that respect, hes getting much better musically, im more into his "trio" stuff than his "mainstream" stuff, to me what bugged me were the comparisons to Ryan Adams, and to me John is nowhere near being that "prolific" and "diverse".

Resist all urges for comparison and let him be the best JM that he can wink
