The U.S. dates have been changed from the original posting.
That being the case, reports will probably come in drips and drabs from this side of the pond.

I was hoping he'd be on the highlights of the O2 wireless festival, but they seem to show half an hour of Jay-Z, 10 minutes of Mark Ronson and bugger else all dead

I saw him in London....It was great to him again! It was a James Brown tribute set though, with various members of J.B's band guesting.(Including J.B's wife!). It was definately funking but I feel a few people felt let down that they weren't warned about the nature of his set.People were expecting to see P-Funk but got J.B instead. The band were great though and it was great to see those living legends!

Thank you. I was already aware that it was just J.B. material. No problem hearing that stuff. Any idea about the setlist??

I know they played 'Pass The Peas','Sex machine','Call Me Superbad' and others. Bobby Byrd's wife (and ex-J.B backing singer) sang Aretha's 'Repect' too...The band were tight with two drummers (including Clyde Stubblefield),Cool horn section and a female Bootzilla dancer with big 'fro and star shape glasses. They were forced to leave the stage earlier than expected because they started a little late. Bootsy looked a bit peeved about this and ended the set getting the crowd to chant 'Long Live James Brown!'.A funky good time, for sure.

For you guys who don't know if they should go see Bootsy's J.B.Tribute:
It's definitelty a James Brown show. No P-funk or Bootzilla here.
What you get is a (sometimes) supertight playing band of former J.B. musicians.
Original drummer Jabo Starks, Fred Wesley, Catfish Collins and ofcourse B.
Emceed by Danny Rae (who's doing this for 40 years now) the Hardest Working Band locks into groooves such as: Superbad, Talkin Loud, Get up Get into it Get involved, Sex Machine etc. If you want to see Bootsy doing his J.B. stuff go see him. If you want P-Funk don't go.
We got 1 full hour of Bootsy after a mediocre 45 min of Bootzilla production artist, rappers, Vicky Anderson etc.
At the end the standard drill: Bootsy (Touch) through the audience chanting P-Funk rhymes and letting us hope he'll be back with his own stuff (which he promised). Bootsy's chant for the evening: Long Live James Brown!
