RipHer2Shreds

They had a few albums, but their first was their best. This song's from Under a Nouveau Groove. This one's just okay for me.

Unfortunately, I have no love to share lol both "Why You Treat Me So Bad" & their version of "Lean on Me" may as well be Lakeside's "Fantastic Voyage" - gather all copies & burn them immediately exclaim

.

In early 1993,I was at a nightclub and I saw the female lead singer Valerie Watson there. She wasn't performing, she was just there with a male companion, dancing up a storm lol I spoke with her and got her autograph...she was sweet and really tiny! She mentioned that she was working on a solo album but I don't know if it was ever released. She's an amazing vocalist.

I really liked this group back in the days and still have all their aslbums but I found their "Listen to the message" album a bit boring and preachy.
Under a Noveau Groove was a very solid album, IMO, and I still like it to this day.
I never really understood what was going on between them and Timex Social Club...seemed like one group was trying to steal the other group´s tyle abd sound a bit....or were they somehow related ? They both had this "Rumors", "Jealousy" and "Envy" trilogy going on .
I was too young to know the background and details.
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I could be wrong but I think that Jay King (leader of Club Nouveau) was also a member (or creator?) of Timex Social Club as well.I'm pretty sure he had something to do with both groups.
