George Michael in Chicago.

awesome show! I absolutely loved it!

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face was a nice, very painful surprise. I bawled like a baby. That's probably the strongest reaction from me. Weird experience.

But other highlights were pretty much all of the Wham!-era songs. Plus Freedom and Faith.

Loved it!

anyone else?

hey i went too and we had a great time! george put on a fantastic show with about as perfect a setlist as he could make, considering his body of work. he really worked his ass off and it was nice to see him dancing and really looking like he's enjoying himself. for me, the best part was his voice. he make not have taken as many risks as he has in the past but vocally, he really hasnt lost a thing. he still sounds so pure and clear. i cant believe he still sounds the way he does, with as much weed as he's smoked. "hard day" was my fave and i thought "an easier affair" and "amazing" were really great too. cant really fault a thing about the show. if he's coming to your town and u have the opportunity to see him, dont miss it. it's worth the money.

I went to the show tonight and all I can say is WOW!! It was truly a party. George moved into my number two spot behind Prince for all-time concert experiences. He sounded great, the choice of songs was fantastic, the band and backing vocals were superb and the set design was stellar. I had an AMAZING time. He put on a fantastic show. He played ALL of my favorites (old and new).

Here's the set list from what I can remember (in no particular order):

Fast Love
Too Funky
Hard Day
I'm Your Man
Everything She Wants
Father Figure
One More Try
Roxanne (beautiful jazzy interpretation of the Police classic)
The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
Amazing
Flawless
Outside
Freedom
Kissing a Fool
Spinning the Wheel
Feeling Good
Star People
Careless Whisper
Faith
A Different Corner
An Easier Affair

The Amazing-Flawless-Outside section was off the chain! The whole show was a true celebration of life, freedom and music. I LOVED it!

my only minor disappointment was not getting Praying For Time, as it's my all-time favorite by him and i know that he's been doing it. that and You Have Been Loved, but i probably couldn't have handled that one considering my response to TFTEISYF.

like i said, only a minor disappointment. the show was fantastic. he sounded incredible.

His Web site lists the set lists for each performance, and it says he performed Praying for Time here in Minneapolis as well. He did NOT do that song here. The set lists on his site are off. It also says that he did The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face in the middle of the first half of the show, but it was the first encore here.

GM delivered on a level that makes you both ecstatic & sad in the same moment. I was ecstatic to be blessed enough to witness an artist who appears to be finally, at peace with himself and who is a true craftsmen/performer but I was overcome with sadness when I thought of how this kind of talent & work ethic is visibly absent from many of today's "musicians/artists." In an effort to show his appreciation for his fans, he worked his a$$ off on that stage last night and once it was all over, it was the best $150 I'd ever spent for a ticket!!!

Did you get a program? It said that he tried to make the North American shows more like a party with some quiet/slow moments mixed in. So, after reading that I understood why he didn't do songs like Praying.., You Have..., Jesus to a Child and Don't Let the Sun Go Down. Those are all great and I would have enjoyed hearing them, but I thought the pacing of the show was excellent. It really did feel like I had been to a party.

It was WONDERFUL. GM is truly a performer. As I was watching his amazing interpretation of Roxanne with those visuals behind him, it was slightly sobering to realize that this might truly be a once in a lifetime experience as I do not know if he will ever do a show like this again. He said he was going to "work his ass off" and he did.
