"You Got The Power" by War (1982) As the 80s began,it seemed like War were becoming obsolete.Thankfully, they bounced back in 1982 with the excellent 'Outlaw' album and the well-receieved first single "You Got The Power",a popular R&B hit in the spring of that year.

There must have been some dead motherfuckers around here lately to let this thread get to the bottom of page 2.
Anyway, great jam by War. One of my favorites. Andy is a four letter word.

Side Two includes an excellent slow jam "Baby It's Cold Outside".You seem to prefer slow jams by funk bands so I think you would like this one.

yeah, this lp let me know that war still had it. I think this was the first lp I heard from these guys in the 1908's. and it wasn't trying to be rick or the gappas or anything. it was just good in it's own self. nipsy

'Outlaw' is a solid album. The title track is like an 80s "Cisco Kid".The album also includes "Cinco De Mayo" which has become a latin anthem. This was probably their last great album, although 1994's 'Peace Sign' has some great songs too.
