Today has been a Joni day and have been listening to her album Blue. In particular the song, "A Case of You". This whole album is a soul scorcher. But today this song really speaks to me. What song on Blue speaks to you?

My Old Man is a song that has the power to beguile me, as has every other song on this album.

Every artist has got this one (or more) staple album that is amazing from start to end and in Joni Nitchell's case that is Blue.
Beautiful lyrics, her voice was still sharp, the instrumentation so dead-on. Everything is just perfect.
And yeah, even though I also like her smokey voice, I much appreciate her voice when it was still sharp.

Love Blue but I prefer Court And Spark, I think People's Parties and Same Situation are the best back to back songs she's ever done. Asides from Coyote and Amelia of course.

Blue was the first Joni album I got, so many of those songs made a deep impact and I have a connection with them, no matter how much I like Court & Spark.
