"she'll do anything if Prince would take her home....that's what she says" [Edited 6/28/08 2:04am] Yeah...that always blew my mind. Even back then. I always thought that these cats must have been deeply in love with Prince and shit. I mean, to actaully name check a cat that's out at the same time as you? Fuck that. Prince had a straight spell on these cats in the mid 80's. That's real. The track was cool on it's on. Musically, it didn't sound anything like Prince so I don't know, even as as kid,..I thought it weird that he would call out Prince. It was like if he mentioned Prince by name in his song, then that would make it a hit. Like a magical potion or something..."Oh hummasayetichische...we call Prince." SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

The song also makes references to Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson I'm surprised that Bobby didn't mention Rick James as well.We all know that "Slick Rick" had many groupies too!

Yep, still have the 12" version. Man, that was a Golden Era for dance/funk jams. If we ever have an Org dance party, I'll bring my crates and SoulAlive can DJ.

If you notice, the lyric says...."She'd pull her hair out, she'd do anything if Prince would take her home".....And then the very next lyric says....."She says that Stevie is a man and that she can't leave him alone"....I've always wondered if that was to imply that Prince wasn't a man. Sounds like something Rick would say. Things to make you go hmmmmm. Andy is a four letter word.

Are you kidding? Man, just about every day I was at the record store buying sh!t I heard on KTU, BLS, KISS, or my old college radio station(WBAU/Adelphi University. My buddy Chuck D had his own show back then, and he'd play some serious jams. Wish I'd taped those shows. It blows away the sh!tfest today's radio has become).

Yeah, they used to play the hell out of "Nunk" in my area also. Everyone seems to have forgotten it but they instantly remember it once they hear it again. The org is kinda tricky sometimes. Sometimes they remember something you wouldn't expect them to, and other times, they don't remember something at all. I know I did a thread on "Who's Stickin' It" by Sunrize (a group in 1982 that was produced by The Isley Brothers). I didn't get even one reply. Andy is a four letter word.
