Thanks for the review, mate. And check out the Cocteau Twins; I am sure you like them. I think it flows as well. I feel no contradiction over it. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

It's not a game of like/dislike or known/unknown. I know my tastes are to ecclectic and too weird at times to win everyone over with every song. If you just like ONE of these, then it's a winner, to me.
And please Rich, please tell me about Nina. And don't feel limitations, feel borders falling away; just suck these artists up in your own universe and enjoy; that's what I will be doing with all the other tapes. Also, please notice that many of these songs came to me via other people; Lars, Aksel, my brother. Just assimilate other people's tastes, or at least take notice, if you don't feel the love; resistance is futile.

Yes, yes, YES! Still have to go with the Nina track for the "favorite" mix
I'm having a threeway among SigurĂ°sson, Cocteau Twins and Nina. I may go with Cocteau Twins as my fave. I'm annoyed and a little embarrassed that I didn't even know I had that song already.

Also, please notice that many of these songs came to me via other people; Lars, Aksel, my brother. Just assimilate other people's tastes, or at least take notice, if you don't feel the love; resistance is futile. It went a little something like this: How my suckass Wednesday turned into a whole lot of fun! So I met this guy about 3 months ago. I tried meeting up with him but it never seemed to work out. So before leaving work I thought I would try him to see if he was around. He was and he was free So I tell him I would be there in about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. So I get to his street and am standing outside his apartment and I call and he asks where I'm at. I tell him I'm outside of his apartment and all of a sudden he starts yelling I told you to call me before you got here. I'm not ready. I told you I needed to get ready!!! .....uuuuuhhhhh, I told you when I was leaving my job and you have had 45 minutes to get ready. It's not such a good idea that we do this. goodbye WTF!? Dickface! I should be thankful that he showed his true colors right away because that is straight out psychoville So I heaad over to a little bar called the GoldCoast in West Hollywood. It was just dead in there but I just wanted a beer before heading home. So I'm sitting there watching these guys play pool and one of the players started talking to me. He introduced me to his other friends and we were just kind of hanging out. Well the really cute guy says they are going to another bar and if I wanted to join. You know I wanted to but good boy Richard starts thinkin how this is a school night and it was getting late and it would have taken 20 minutes to get to the next bar they wanted to go to. I told him that I didn't want to drive for 20 minutes since it was getting late. He looked at me :whofarted 'drive?" We are going to Fubar. OH!!!!! I thought he meant Ackbar, which was a 20 minute drive. Fubar was literally one block away Off we went.... We get to Fubar and it is hoppin I look over at the DJ booth and ask Is that Jackie Beat!? The Cutie pie says No! That's Chi Chi Larue OH! good thing she didn't hear me because I probably would have been bitchslapped Does anyone see how I was confused?? For those not in the know, Jackie Beat is a local drag queen and she's pretty well known but I have no idea what for other than being a drag queen. Chi Chi Larue is a porn producer Actually her movies are super super hot. So we are standing there with our beers, just hanging out and talking and all of a sudden the bar lights up and we turn around and there are cameramen and guys holding these big lights and in walks Nina Hagen! You know, that chick that sang that 99 luft balloons song in the 80s? We were like WTF? So she comes in and she starts dancing around to some old school 80s synth new wave pop and she's on the stage laying down kicking her feet in the air and lip syncing to the music. It was very odd She announces that she is filming for her show that is going to show in Germany. German orgers, keep an eye out for me. I might be in the footage! She hung around for a little while and after about 20 minutes, she left. Part of Chi Chi's "Dirty Deeds" night involved some of her pornstars They were all through the crowd and eventually some of them took to the dance stage. I ended up seeing wiener And I ended up falling on cutie pies lips I loved that this night started out like a shithole and ended up being a total blast Addendum: OK, since telling that story It was revealed to me that Nina Hagen "New York New York" is not the 99 luft balloon chick. Imagine how shocked i was when the 99 luft balloon girl came in with platforms and Amanda Lepore Makeup and crazy ass hair 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I was able to listen to this but in shards between demands of angst filled teens at work. There were several unfamiliar artists and overall I love it! I've made some notes about the songs and will post tomorrow if there is some quiet time. A first thought about Nina Hagen Band ~ There is not room in the world for two Diamanda's! Love this voice. But much more later. Thank you for this Herman ~ sublime. And, I agree, I want a real copy! Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife. --Kahlil Gibran

I have gone and gotten stuff and when I wanted to file it I found out I already have it. It is not strange, when having so much stuff. I probably have you both beat. One day I was strolling through Tower records (remember them? ) and I saw 4 live discs by Bjork and went and was so upset because I could only afford to buy just one instead of all 4. So I bought Post live. Then about a month later I am going through a couple of boxes I had stashed a bunch of stuff in and I come across this boxset and I go: I was starting at Bjork's Live Box I had bought the damn thing and didn't even remember it! When I traced it back in my memory I remember that I bought it during a music binge in which I spent $200 and was swimming in music. Usually I stick with a CD for a while before moving on and I had so much music that I had not gotten to the Bjork box and just forgot I ever bought it 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I feel like I'm in college again, behind on my homework! I have listened to this mix a couple times, but aside from saying it's nice I don't feel like I know it well enough to comment yet. I will say that I thought it flowed just fine! My Legacy

"A Symmetry"-I like the track, though I'm not feeling it as the opening track on the comp, but that's just personal taste. I like the vibe of it and the acoustic piano stuff that pops up occasionally!
"The Wind"-I'm not that familiar with PJ Harvey and I really like this track. It's got a great beat and the orchestral an trumpet samples are great. She has a sexy voice! "Confusion"-I'd love to hear this song with updated production. I'm not sure when it came out, but I really dig the track! "Feel Good Lost Reprise"-I LOVE this track! It's probably my fave on the compilation! I might have to buy this one for my night collection. "Alice"-MAN this woman has a beautiful voice! She sounds like an angel! And the motion of the piano in the back gives this song so much motion and yet it doesn't even have any drums! This is another favorite! "The Lake"-This guy's voice sounds a LOT like Nina Simone. It's a beautiful song. "We Share Our Mothers' Health"-Something about this reminds me of early Nine Inch Nails. I like the beat and that bass synth! IT pumps! "Naturtrane"-You got a thing for operatic sounding women, doncha? This is a really cool sounding track with a HELL of a last note! "What Else Is There?"-This is a fantastic track! I love the arrangement and the chord progression. The singer reminds me of Nelly Furtado in some way. "The Amazing Sounds Of Orgy"- at the title! Cool track, I like the distorted drums especially! I like your compilation quite a bit Hamsta!
