Manu Chao I was just wondering how many other Manu Chao fans were lurking around here.
I discovered Manu Chao just last month, I suppose it was, when Mr. Artiga (  ) played "Me Gustas Tu" in class, and we had to translate the lyrics. I found the song particularly amusing, and thus, came home and downloaded it in KaZaA.
Currently, I'm working on downloading the entire "Proxima Estacion: Esperanza" cd. -------

Oh yes, Manu Chao´s music, with or without La Mano Negra is excellent. Fun and fresh. I remember one of his albums with La Mano Negra, Puta´s fever that was great and of course the last two albums by Manu Chao. | |

I had the MISFORTUNE of having to hear his music while living in Toulouse..
he's got talent as a guitar player, but the music I've heard from him sounds so simple & repetitive.. & those DUMBASS lyrics "me gusta marijuana me gusta marijuana me gusta marijuana" over & over. excellent songwriting right there. how he got to be so popular in the Hexagone- or any other part of the world, for that matter- I'll never know.. I'll see you tonight..

First heard that 4 years ago when I was travelling in Nepal. Got a couple of his albums (haven't got the live one he released a couple of months ago - is it any good?). Saw him at the Shepherds Bush Empire about 6 months ago and he was really good. The only problem was that I saw Ozomatli live a year ago and they were about 50 times better. I like the way he recycles and re-samples himself over and over again - helps the albums to flow. |
