I listened to disc one and most of the second disc of Song Review, and I know exactly what you mean about no fillers.

I can't even categorize some of those songs into one decade, they just sound so timeless. Sir Duke is one of my new favourites, and the melodies just sat with me right away, music hasn't done that for me properly in a long time.

I can hear what influenced mj and janet too, I just had to add that!

I know right, I started thinking about albums right away. I think I would like Innervisions and Songs in the Key of Life best. I just sampled Innervisions.

I've liked stevie since I was old enough to remember, but it was just a few songs here and there my parents played or would turn up on the radio. I even had a casio keyboard with sunshine of my life on it as a demo. But I never got around to buying the albums for some reason. I remember the solid gold performance of I Just Called To Say I Love You and loving it as a kid, and I remember loving the Wild Wild West song and then learning it was sampled (stevie being in the video was a hint) lol and also being surprised at the Gangsta's Paradise music being a sample when Stevie showed up at the Billboard awards in 1995 during coolio's performance. Stuff like that over the years.

Not so much -- Wal-Mart usually has a lot of them on sale for under $10 (even $7 sometimes).

And I'm happy to note that for some reason you could only find "Songs In the Key of Life" for $30 on CD, but I think the price recently got cut (at least on Amazon, which is pretty good on these things).

confused I swear, Where I'm Coming From is the Rodney Dangerfield of Stevie albums -- no respect! Is it because it's out of print and so hard to find? It's like $6 on iTunes. Honestly, I prefer it to Music of My Mind.

I couldn't agree with you more. I wish all music were such a great value. Buy a gallon and a half of gasoline and burn it in 30 minutes, or own this beauty for a lifetime.

"Music of My Mind" gets referenced frequently, but I think this is where you go to find the start of "Big Stevie Wonder" totally meshing with his muse.

Yeah, some of these threads definitely get me inspired to listen to the subject matter.

Stevie Wonder's music to me sounds like the voices of children lost at play; yet it's never childish.

Uk Itunes have a special album with everything stevie recorded throughout his career, can't remember the price, but i don't think it's too heavy. even though i have a lot of his stuff, i was very tempted.

So much respect for Stevie and his music. My favourite artist of all time.

Yeah, I think they have the same thing at the US Itunes. It's called "The Complete Stevie Wonder" and it's $189.99 for 625 tracks or so.

That's sounds incredibly expensive until you consider that's only about 30 cents per track (or roughly $3.00 per album).

I feel addicted to him already, I always knew he was a huge influence and could usually make out "stevie-like" vocals, but now I'm finding it more than ever.

What movie?

I don't have Song Review or Natural Wonder. I have "Stay Gold" on Ballad Collection.

Secret Life of Plants is his best.

GX-1 madness to the max. Wish "soul" performers would still be making albums like that - no one is making anything of the kind, not even Prince.

nod That is correct. Francis Ford Coppola co-wrote it. Soffia Coppola has a brief part in the movie, too. lol

It's not like I can argue with any of the proclamations about SITKOL or MOMM or Innervisions, but this, in my mind, is Stevie's flawless work.

Most of my favorite Stevie songs come from this album.
