Obviously this music sounds funkadelic, and directly references funkadelic, and Wesley was a former member, but according to allmusic, the album was released in 2001. Was that a re-release year, or was that really a late release album tribute or something? "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring faith. The sound is more Parliament-ish, but anyways The P-Funk mob had a lot of side projects, if you will, and this is one them. Most of them have pretty much, if not exactly, the same crew as on the main Parliament/Funkadelic albums, but they are just credited to various band members as their 'solo projects' so to speak. This was Fred Wesley's and The Horny Horns' time to shine. It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Yeah, I got that, but thanks My main confusion was that allmusic showed the album as being from 2001, and while I am familiar with most of Clinton's/P-Funk projects, I was not aware the horny horns had any albums. It's hard to believe how much output this gang had back in the day. mind blowing. "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring faith. Anyways, they released two albums back in the day, "A Blow For Me..." in '77 and "Say Blow By Blow Backwards" in '79. I haven't had the chance to listen to the latter effort, I've seen it around but haven't bought it, yet "A Blow For Me..." is definitely worth getting, as it's a great album. It has a cool cover of "Up For The Down Stroke" on it It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Fred Wesley and The Horny Horns featuring Maceo Parker Fred Wesley, Maceo Parker, Rick Gardner and the late Richard "Kush" Griffith. Parliament/Funkadelic, Bootsy's Rubberband and The Brides of Funkenstein....they played all three sets in concert.

I love this album but exists as a one-off in a mental folder of its own, between very separate "p-funk" and "james brown" spheres of reference, you know what i mean? except bootsy was in the james brown band at some point.
