It's not Ray Parker Jr. It's C.J. Hilton. [Edited 6/29/08 12:20pm]

WOW!!! Me likes!! I'll be buying this. Puttin' on right next to the new Al Green and last year's Chaka.
Now, was that REAL STRINGS on that track (asks the violinist. . .)?

OK, I'll be the one to say it:

Great tune! Raph hasn't released anything in awhile so this'll be a welcome return.
And at Stevie doing a harmonica solo! He's almost made a side career of appearing with other people playing harmonica!

That guy doesn't even sound like Ray Parker, Jr. to me.
Raphael should have done all the vocals himself or either actually gotten Ray to duet with him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

That is definitely Ray Parker Jr. Listen to "Jamie" and tell me its not him.

Sorry that guy on Raphael's song does not sound like Ray Parker Jr. I grew up listening to Ray. Someone above said it's a vocalist named C.J. Hilton. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think it is him on the first verse also. Did you ever hear Ray's latest album? Ray's voice has changed a little, but the harmonies in the bridge/chorus are definitely Ray. Go to RayParkerJr.com and listen to clips from his last project. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

really?? I thought it was just as good if not better then the other leaked song which I can't even recall at the moment. This one lingers in my mind...

I mean, he put his Marvin Gaye influence alil' too much on public display for my taste. Not that I mind, but at least the other song you could tell that Ray threw his musical "personality" into the mix, you could tell it was him. Whereas this song, it sounds abit like something out of a Marvin Gaye tribute album. Still a cool song,,,but it could be one of the tracks where I'll end up skipping. I hope it grows on me later, though.

thank you... from the press release Raphael grins when talking about the hypnotic “Love That Girl”: “Man, that’s all about the swing…the way girls swing their hips! It’s the type of song that will make people move and that shuffle beat reminds me of those ladies I used to see playing drums in church!” With its Motown-flavored tambourine-featured beat, “Never Give You Up” is what Raphael calls “my three generations song. It includes C.J., this youngster from Baltimore that I’m working with and Stevie Wonder. When we first did the track, I had this spot where we said, ‘Please invite Mr. Stevie Wonder to my album’ the way Stevie did with Dizzy Gillespie on one of his records. Originally, Stevie wasn’t on it but I felt like he should be there. I ended up calling him and he came over to the studio in an hour! I still can’t used to Stevie Wonder being my friend.”
