Nooo! Not another standards/covers album!

But I'll take it because she does them well. I don't care for the title either. Guess they couldn't think of anything.

Natalie is one of my favorites but I'm gonna have to pass on this.I'm tired of covers albums!! Her last CD was a covers album and I got tired of it really fast.Besides, how many more of her father's songs can she do?! I'm gonna wait for an album of all-new material from her.

I know! lol And that song was a cash in to begin with. She's good enough not to do that. Amy Winehouse would never!! lol

Amy Whinehouse might not make any album ever again at this rate....

I agree with what most people are saying. I'm not even a huge Natalie fan, but what I do like by her tends to be the originals. Going back to this mill is waay to safe but maybe it will get that audience of people that bought the first one back. For some reason, the woman does not have a solid hits set, though. And it's not like that is happening because she keeps cranking out the hits.

I love alot but like alot of you..this is making me cringe. I thought Verve records gave their artists freedom. This sounds like a CEO's idea to cash in. But will we buy it?

On second thought I'll wait to hear it. I haven't come across anything that says why she felt the need to do this again (altho I can't believe Unforgettable was 17 years ago!).

I'm glad she's churned something out so quickly but back-to-back cover albums? Come on already...

It's a shame the way Old School artists (especially the females) are treated.Donna Summer says that when she met with Sony/Burgundy executives regarding a new record deal, they made it clear that they wanted her to do a covers album mad Apparently, labels think that these women can only sell CDs if they're singing old, familiar songs. In recent years,Diana Ross,Patti LaBelle,Deniece Williams,Gladys Knight and others have released covers albums.I think it's played out!

A better idea for Natalie Cole would be for her to go into the studio with Gamble and Huff and make a retro-sounding R&B album. All new songs,no remakes.THAT'S what her record label should be suggesting!

But who are they selling to? The only people familiar with these covers are the older demos anyway or most of their core fan base. Do they think their main demo would not by new material by them? The one new song she did with Dallas Austin on the last album was great and everyone told her so.

The only way this disc seems to be different is that it's more jazzy and classic standards as oppose to pop but it's still been done before.

If Vanessa's new album is a cover too I'm outta here. (don't actually know where I'm going tho) lol
