High School Musical 3 is comingout in the fall so those weak numbers will be eclipsed with ease.

1 THA CARTER III LIL' WAYNE 1,316,211 1 and 1/3 large is a top seller these days? Man, the Internets, she do take a bite, don't she?

7 JUNO SOUNDTRACK 780,894 Impressive number for that soundtrack and would be in about any era.

9 HERE I STAND USHER 754,270 The Next Michael Jackson goes from selling 9 large to inching towards 1xplat?

10 VIVA LA VIDA OR DEATH AND ALL HIS FRIENDS COLDPLAY 722,134 THIS is the Next U2?

15 TRILLA RICK ROSS 588,722 Can MC's even speak English anymore?

18 BACK TO BLACK AMY WINEHOUSE 560,686 if she's awake, she'll laugh all the way to the bank.

19 HARD CANDY MADONNA 558,543 Oh, my. Madonna can barely go gold?

20 In Rainbows Radiohead 549,286 pretty good accomplishment considering they gave away the record in the fall.

37 DISCIPLINE JANET JACKSON 392,140 Paging Jimmy and Terry . . .

40 RAISING SAND ROBERT PLANT/ALISON KRAUSS 365,548 If a fraction of the people who raved about this album actually bought it this number would be 10 times as high.

Coldplay holds at #1 on Billboard's album chart for the second week with Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends. But the big news is that, in just two weeks, Viva La Vida has sold more downloads than any album in digital history. The old record was held by John Mayer's Continuum. Viva La Vida sold 66,000 downloads this week, bringing its two-week total to 354,000. Continuum has sold 353,000 downloads since its release in September 2006.

You should put Biggest Selling Albums of 2008 OF America because worldwide that list would be alot different, Madonna's Hard candy has sold sold over 2 million copies worldwide thats including the usa, where for example Mariah Carey only sold 1 million and half copies including the usa and worldwide.

Exactly! That is just the albums numbers from this year, the album has gone past 1 million and being an INDIE album, you can probably add more onto that total because there are ways that cd has been sold that are NOT counted. So for a record by a 60year old rocker and an alternative country artist to nail a million + copies without glitzy videos, or some sort of HYPE it clearly shows that there are at least a million people that arent LOST!

Its still scary of how SMALL a fraction digital sales are considering that the industry is forcing retail out and digital in, and as its been said before, digital is still not a great sound quality at all. I think that the lack of people still buying digital downloads should show the labels that it needs to STOP running retail out of business, well, its too late for that since they are all gone.
