Its a tough one. Have u ever seen ANY footage, like the Truth or Dare stuff? If you've seen that, there aren't many concerts that live up to the energy of that performance ( I blieve it was Paris Bercy). The Nice show is horrible. Her voice is simply appauling. The Yokahoma show is great in terms of her vocals, but the stage is different, alot darker, the performance is a little less fluid, and that pony tail .... The only other ive seen is Barcelona. Her voice is pretty shitty in that too, but i actually quite like this one. I think its the crazy Spanish crowd i like. I dream she'll release that filmed Paris Bercy concert one day. Great energy - great voice - filmed brilliantly.

I've seen boots of RIT and watched Confessions and they aren't as exciting on tv as they were in person. your post made me put in my bootleg from japan. pony tail. i forgot how killer "Like A Prayer" is on here. I love the mix. this show was obviously the template for all of her ensuing tours, theatrically speaking. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

It's my favorite show of hers. In fairness, I didn't see any recordings of the last tour. Her singing's pretty awful, but the staging of it is brilliant. I think I'm gonna watch my laserdisc this weekend now.

I've only seen the HBO one.
I love it. It's a great piece of pop art from a time when she more concerned with being pop than art.

Whoa, shocked that you haven't seen it yet!
The show gets a lot of criticism from fans nowadays, because some aspects of the show are dated, Madonna uses a whole lot of backing tapes of album vocals, her voice is bad, and some of the songs are ridiculous. But still, it's her first ever iconic show that started it all. Without BAT, there wouldn't be TGS, DWT, RIT, CT & SST. The opening of BAT is stunning, and the whole religious segment. The Dick Tracy section is fun but very "at the time" compared to most of the show. "Vogue" is fantastic and "Holiday" is performed in its best version ever. The main thing is, don't look at BAT while thinking of her later tours!

That was my 1st (and only) Madonna concert, too. Saw her in DC. Drove up with crappy seats and wound up getting floor seats from a scalper. It actually wasnt a bad show. Technotronic opened up for her. They put the "L" in lowbudget, but ya kid k was pretty entertaining. A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

I remember seeing bits of the Technotronic performance from TX when MTV did a report on the show.

They were the opening act.We walked into the arena while they were already performing.Haven't heard from them in awhile...I wonder whatever happened to them? They had a fun sound.

Is Blonde Ambition the one with the cones over her breasts? I hated those cones, the curly hair and her eyebrows (they scare me). Never seen it to this day. The Girlie Show was my first. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I love the BAT. It's my favorite tour actually, because she was never bitchier, more egomanic, selfcentred and provocative I think. She's pretty immature too.
I like the dancers as well. There are better tours but it's my fvorite tour and set standards. Also it has my favorite perforamnce by Madonna ever - Keep It Together!!

Too bad a recording never surfaced of those dates, I wondered if she said anything controversial there.

Aren't you confusing it with the Who's That Girl Tour? I never paid attention to Who’s That Girl so I don’t have an opinion of it. But the 2nd pic is BAT! That’s the hair! The cones are little but didn’t one of the dancers have long cones? But, I agree, the Keep It Togeher performance is hot. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

On TGS the interaction was good, but on BAT it was way too much. Always the "let's kick my backup singers" before "Where's The Party" and always the stupid fish jokes after "Cherish". Personally I don't mind that Madonna talks less to the audience these days.

I've seen the performance clips and they're awesome. I myself would love to see the whole thing, but I don't think it's sold in chain stores

At the time I thought this was Madonna's best tour. Later I came to see it as the beginning of her descent into overly conceptual nonsense.
I remember the dancer with the bleached blonde hair was busting some great moves in "Open Your Heart", and Madonna herself was doing some cool moves in "Where's The Party" (the bleach blonde guy did some great stuff at the end of that one too). Also on the plus side, Madonna's catalogue wasn't loaded with dreck at that point, so the songs performed are mostly better than what she was working with on later tours, (although she missed out some of her best songs even here, and the Dick Tracy segment sucked). Also, she was more energetic in these days and cooler. However, her pretentiousness was already starting to get the better of her. It's all concepts for the sake of concepts, which pretty much became the story of every Madonna tour afterwards. Still, I'd take this over any of them. At least there was some sense of fun on this tour. After this it was either very silly (The Girlie Show), or very dull (The Drowned World Tour). Her best tour for me is the Who's That Girl Tour. She was still fresh then and wasn't at all pretentious. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”
