Gay Affirming Songs

I just posted on the LTD thread that 'Love Ballad' has always been a positive gay song for me. It validated how I felt. "What we have is much more than they can see." It suggested that because "they" couldn't see it or understand it made it no less real to me. That song was the kind of love I wanted (and looking back) found.
So for others what are some songs that either made you feel you could through this or come what may, you'd just be you?

One that comes to mind is
Depeche Mode, "People Are People"

I'll post more as they occur . . .
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

This is so funny.

2 days ago I was listening to this song, but the George Benson's uptempo original version (I say original because in his greatest hits collections there's a edit version all the time), and I had the same feeling when listening to the
"lovers come and then lovers go, that's what people say, don´t they know?, They're not there when you love me, hold me and say you care..." part.

I'm glad such a romantic song can have a door open to dedicate to my bf.
Totally agree and share your view in the great relationship I'm in too.

biggrin

Another great song is Some People's Lives, by Janis Ian (covered by B Midler). Well, she's openly gay too. But this song is beyond anything I can express.

Just in case, the lyrics (http://www.janisian.com)

SOME PEOPLE’S LIVES

(Janis Ian/Kye Fleming)

Some people's lives
run down like clocks
one day they stop,
that's all they've got.

Some lives wear out
like old tennis shoes
no one can use,
it's sad, but it's true.

Didn't anybody tell them?
Didn't anybody see?
Didn't anybody love them
like you love me?

Some people's eyes
fade like their dreams,
too tired to rise,
too tired to sleep.

And some people laugh
when they need to cry...
And they never know why.

Didn't anybody tell them
that's not how it has to be?
Didn't anybody love them
like you love me ?

Some people ask
if the tears have to fall,
then, why take your chances?
Why bother at all?

And some people's lives
are as cold as their lips...
They just need to be kissed.

Doesn't anybody tell them?
Doesn't anybody see?
Doesn't anybody love them
like you love me?

'Cause that's all they need.

Hope you like it... wink
