Did you guys know that,in the early 80s,Whitney auditioned for a role on 'The Cosby Show'? I think she tried out for the role of the oldest daughter? She didn't make it,but a year later she released her debut album and became a superstar anyway, lol.

Around the same time (early 80s),she also appeared on an episode of "Gimme A Break".

I doubt it. I can't see the video and, for once, I'm glad my job has videos blocked. lol

I wish she had gotten the role. I have no problem with her acting, it's her music that I hate. Also, if she had gotten the part, she would have become an actress and would have too busy to fuck up the music industry with her dull influence. lol

I remember seeing that episode when it aired. I've always loved Nell Carter. Shitney was a friend of Katie's and I think Katie was wanting to quit college or something in that episode and open up a clothing store. Nell got mad and hollered to her...."That's it, no more black friends for you". Years later, when I found out who that girl was, I said..."What black friends?". lol Nell was a big girl that was cool as hell and didn't take no shit and I loved her for it since my mother was large. I just wish Nell would have whooped Shitney's ass in that episode. lol

Yep, she was supposed to play Denise,,,even though she's as old as Sandra(the oldest daughter).

It woulda been cool to see her playing one of the Cosby kids.

I guess she always had the acting bug. I was always disapointed she never appeared in more (and frankly, better) movies. She could act. She could have been good in even smaller roles but I guess it was all about being the star for her. More than just her personal problems, the people that have been handling her career over the last 8 years (after the success of "My Love..." and all the singles) are really fucking up.

As an actress, she was on a roll in the 90s,with three successful films:"The Bodyguard","Waiting To Exhale" and "The Preacher's Wife".It's a shame that her personal problems with drugs prevented her from going further as an actress.
