Cool. This album wasn't as good as her debut.
The highlights from this album for me was Real love,
friends, lifestyle. I even liked affairs of the heart
better than this album.
Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

That's okay. I forgive you. comfort Overall, I like her first album better. I'm just encapsulating its chart history.

This album was weak in comparison to her 1st cd. I like this cd, but prefer Affairs of the Heart and Intimacy.

She goes down in history with this album as being the first rap/singing collaboration.

Chaka Khan's "I Feel for You" preceded Jody Watley's "Friends" by five years, so I'm not seeing how you figure "Friends" gets this honor.

I remember loving Real Love in summer 1989 when I was 6, it was always on the radio and my mom and I would listen to it.

Her first album is much stronger though, I think it's better than Janet's Control IMO :p

Chaka's didn't really count because it was used more like a sample/into. Jody's song was the first one to ever do a complete verse.

as far as raping/singin collab goes, years before Jody and Chaka there were Gary Byrd & Stevie Wonder doing this

also let's not forget the rap intermezzo on the title track from this album

Hey everybody in the neighborhood,
The beauty's on duty, better hear me good.
Sister e-flat tomato, brother b- flat balloon,
Somethin' funky's goin' down better listen to my tune.
I graduated from the college of the street,
I got a Ph..D. In how to make ends meet.
Inflation in the nation don't bother me,
'Cause I'm a scholar with the dollar
You can plainly see.
Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

I LIVE FOR MISS JODY. She was giving my girl Janet some heat back in the day. Jody had style and definately gave face (big forehead and all). Did she have to work that runway like that in the Real Love video? OVAH! I loved this cd and remember going to her first headlining tour at the Beacon Theater. I remember her asking the crowd "does anyone need some hair" when she snached off her curly wig to expose her straight locs saying "that was my old weave, this is my new one". DIVA DIVA DIVA
