Maybe I missed it, but it seems like no one mentioned Up Jumps The Boogie. I love that song. I like the stuff with Magoo

The material definitely has that bounce, but I must admit a bias. I consider Magoo such a shark biter of Q-Tip I can't stand to listen to it. I used to call him Magoo-Tip. But that's just me.

For all intents and purposes, that album was the genesis of the Timbaland sound. How was it not a groundbreaker? It didn't take long for everyone in the game to want to work with him directly or bite his style.

True but for all that we can say that things like Ginuwine were merely advancements on the whole "jodeci" thing and that was reall brought through by Puffy, though people like to deny him his cred, he did break a whole movement that had alot of smaller movements within.

I think we're talking about 2 different things. You could take what you're talking about further back to Teddy Riley and the New Jack Swing. I'm talking about the Timbaland sound: the stuttering beats, the unusual samples, and so on. It was new and fresh then, it didn't sound like what came before, and it was easily recognizable.

- Aaliyah "One In A Million"
* No one should have ANYTHING to say about this song. NOTHING.

- Aaliyah "We Need A Resolution"/"More Than A Woman"
* Two of his best applications of Arabic-inspired sounds can be found in these two songs.

- Missy Elliott - The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)
* My first REAL encounter with Timbaland and an explosive hit for both him and Missy for good reason. This was when he was in his prime: Making hypnotic, complex beats that managed to be both chunky and smooth. It really was a breath of fresh air back then.

- Nelly Furtado "Do It"
* Even though he should be ashamed of his plagiarism, when I first heard this song I felt like throwing everything off the table in excitement. He has yet to top this song since, IMO.

- Tweet "Call Me"

- Destiny's Child "Get On The Bus"

- Madonna "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You"

I love the overall sound of this but it reminds me of What Goes Around by JT too much.

I think I'd use a word other than "inspired" for the song he lifted for More Than a Woman. lol

It took a long time for this song to grow on me for that same reason, but now that I like it, it reminds me of Bad Girl a little, and I think Madonna could have come up with it without JT as well.

Timbasham stole my school lunch and ate my protools. Greedy motherfuggin asswipe! mad No, but in all seriousness, when Aaliyah was alive, he was a better beatmaker. But I just hate that his motives were "NEVER" fueled by integrity. He was always just out to get what he feels was his (Even if, in reality, it isn't.). He could have learned how to play The Sitar, The Bhangra Dhol, The White Sound Snare Drums, and anything else he swipes in a overly-computerized manner because, in all reality, there's money that was earned by those of which he sampled; but never as much as his lazy ass! I'm just saying.....

I was immediately attracted to Timbaland's sound because his music felt like a derivative of Drum & Bass, a style I was digging for awhile. When I heard what he was doing I was hooked. Especially on One in A Million. Those beats and her smooth vocals I was on cloud9

Even though Timbo used a sample, "inspired" still applies (though it might not state the whole truth).

The problem was I wanted to pair the two together but, if I wanted to do that, "Arabic-sampled" wouldn't have applied to "We Need A Resolution" (not a sample)

..."inspired" was the only word I could think of that provided a middle ground...

I actually think it's a more evolved version of "Cry Me A River"...it has that (for lack of a better term) darkness and atmospheric sound that drew people to "CMAR". "Devil" has a much tighter melody though and is even more low-key than it's predecessor, which works in it's favor. I think it's great but I've played it out already unfortunately.

I HATE "What Goes Around" and always have. Boring. Soulless. A complete F for Justin and Timbaland. I never thought he could produce something with all the dryness of baby powder.

"What Goes Around" was my favorite from that album from the first spin (along with "Summer Love"). I still love it.

Oh, wait..."Summer Love" was my least favorite from "FutureSex/Love Sounds". Thanks for reminding me. I hate that song for the opposite reason as "What Goes Around"; TOO much.

Those two are the cream of a pretty good crop for me. The only songs I really dislike are "SexyBack" (although it's grown on me) and "Chop Me Up."

"Chop Me Up" was really mediocre for me but I couldn't find any reason to hate it like I could the other two songs I mentioned. It's just there. I find the content matter and execution (Three 6 Mafia?? A "chopped and screwed" chorus??) really unnatural and unbelievable but that doesn't really say much about it musically.

I remember I went to a club and they played it and the floor cleared instantly lol I know it's not necessarily the best song to dance to but I was at least expecting a little action. I'm talking dustballs clear. Apparently, a lot of people think the same way.

The Timbaland to have is "DJ Timmy Tim's BC Mix".

I am also fond of "Up Jumps the Boogie (remix)", The Bounce - Jay Z., and Try Again - Aaliyah
We all want the stuff that's found in our wildest dreams.

Summer Love is the best, closely followed by Until The End Of Time.
