But, seriously, I really liked it. Okay, I got a lil tired of him begging for forgiveness and wallowing in guilt, but I Wanna Be Loved is a GORGEOUS song and one of the most beautiful R&B songs I've heard in YEARS. But that's just me. shrug

rolleyes Ummmmm, Eric Benet cheated on his wife which isn't illegal and you obviously missed my point which is that if that's the standard YOU apply to who you listen too then you must have very few songs, if any, in rotation. Besides, what business is it of yours what he or anyone else does in their bedroom with another consenting adult???

riiight, of course biggrin I suppose you excuse all behavior simply because the music's good, or do they actually have to break a law? hmmm That's very selective. I'm the first person to stop supporting someone once I find out how dispicable they are. There's nothing wrong with that, just like theirs nothing wrong with excusing their wretched behavior shrug

rolleyes I hope you like the view from your glass house.

Oh please. No one is asking anyone to be perfect. If you know right from wrong, it isn't much to ask a person to live by that knowledge. Are you a cheater? Is that why you're so defensive?

Halle Berry is crazy as a road lizard. Every dude she's been with sans her baby's daddy has left her. I'm not excusing his cheating but it ain't like Halle is some kind of saint. That chick has issues.
[Edited 6/30/08 11:23am]

lol I didn't say she was a saint, but I find it hard to believe that any woman deserves being cheated on on her wedding day and then have that piece of shit make vows in front of God to stay true to her or whatever order that was in. Hello???

I still think his "True to Myself" project was one of r&b/pop's finer moments. He's an amazing vocalist, Halle issues notwithstanding.

Great singer/songwriter and his personal issues don't have anything to do with his talent. People are so dang hypocritical 'round here. Folks are complaining all over the place about the dearth of good R&B music but won't even give Eric a chance cuz he cheated on his wife. rolleyes If that's the case, then NONE of the legendary R&B/soul singers would be worthy of our judgmental appreciation. Didn't BET's recent recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award get a pot of hot grits thrown on his triflin' ass??? lol

Not defensive at all. I'm just saying that just because I admire someone's talent doesn't mean I have to agree with or approve of their personal choices. Because, ummmmm, they're STRANGERS to me. I don't know them and what they do privately does not impact my life one bit so why should I judge them? And that goes for Eric Benet, Prince, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Chaka Khan, Billie Holiday, and so on and so on. Besides, let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

peace

PurpleCharm

People really need to get over the whole "Eric cheated on Halle" bit. I can't believe this man is still catching hell over that. confused

It's obvious that Halle has issues, just like Eric and everyone else in the world. She shouldn't get a pass just because she has daddy issues...maybe Eric did what he did because of his childhood.

And didn't it come out that the whole "sex addict" story was a lie that was told to the press to help Halle save face?

lol Like I said before, there's nothing wrong with me choosing NOT to listen to someone because of their behavior. You're the one throwing stones at me for not agreeing with your philosophy on the matter

What musicians measure up to your standard? Whose music do you allow yourself to enjoy by this standard?

Thanks.

Honestly, I don't feel like giving a list of who I listen to and of those I listen to right now, some I know nothing about certain aspects of their life. If I know something major, or if the prove to have a horrible personality, I find it very difficult for me to support them. I'm just one person, so I don't make a difference. It just a personal thing for me

It was a while ago and I didn't bother to look for a link. It came from Halle in an interview. He never denied. I think that if someone was lying about my conduct, I would sue them for slander
