originally, Chaka was supposed to be on this track, but due to label issues it did not happen.

It was very similar to what happened to Chaka, on Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love". Chaka co-wrote it, but left off the credits. She does sing background, though.

After all these years this is the first time i've actually
seen this video. I remember his performance on soul train
back in 84. This is the first time i've seen siedah garrett
without her trademark braids. She looks hot in this video.
Wonder what she's up to these days.

She sang the duet. But they shelved her version and went with Ms.Garrett instead.

I didn't know there was a video, but reading the reactions to it I'm gonna skip watching it. I'd rather play my own version in my mind. I love that song, just played it yesterday.
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

SoulAlive

music smooth jam from early 1984.

Anyone remember his follow-up single "You're My Aphrodisiac"? That was a nice one as well.

THE KANE GANG on their Miracle cd is a damn good cover of the song.
Worth hearing.

Just listened to both. Dennis Edwards is the superior version. Although I like Kane Gang's cover, they know they couldn't touch Dennis Edwards.
