Those are all picks I'd consider, but I think I have to go with the predictable choice of "Imagine." "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis | |

While Paul solo is more my bag (especially early and 'now' Paul), I enjoy a few of John's solo offerings -
Instant Karma Cold Turkey Watching the Wheels (kind of 'Imagine' without the shmaltz ) Starting Over (John's love of Roy Orbison/ Elvis shines thru loud and clear here) Nobody Told Me But my favourate would have to be - No. 9 Dream - An uplifting breeze of a track from the self-centred one. Imagine has the greatest popularity and impact. A perfect song, but a boring choice.
Instant Karma is the closest he's come to Beatles awesomeness & pop perfection. God & Mother have perhaps the most personal weight. Starting Over, Woman, Watching the Wheels are slick, over the hill pop songs that should have been the prelude to a major comeback. Isolation is my choice for a lesser known song, and a personal favorite. I love the line about being afraid of the sun. Funny to think that we'd be afraid of the source of life on this planet. And the fact that he's able to break down his fame and remind us that we're all basically the same is pretty impressive. My Legacy
