Chuck D, KRS-1, Immortal Technic, Mos, Outkast, and many others are damn good, but as I have stated, overall, it does not take much talent 2 make a rap record. That is a simple fact, like it or not.

Does not take much talent to make a "RAP" record, Compared to what genre?? It doesn't take much talent to make a record, PERIOD! EXCLAMATION MARK! Did you find it that hard to learn guitar?

It does not take much talent to play a guitar, but it does to do it well. Just like in any other dominant instrument/talent in a genre of music (this includes rap).

And I don't know why you would NOT want to include artists like KRS-One (who is STILL recording) when discussing hip hop music, like he's an EXCEPTION. No! That's the real stuff!

And if someone else said "oh Punk music ain't shit, look at MTV" you would be laughed out of here for pointing at what MTV is playing like their programming matters. So 'the fuck outta here with your pointing at BET. That's how relevant BET is right now.

None that is important. PE, Krs-1, etc is OLD school. That cats are on the back burner. This new school rap is WACK. Rap has very little respect from people who LOVE music.

You weren't discerning between old school and new school when you were talking about the talentless genre "of all time" now were you?

No dude i'm pretty sure there are things me and graycap may not agree on.
Cinnie you making it deeper than it has to be. Don't let it get personal.
Some people just aren't into the new hip hop today. I asked earlier to give
me the name of some new blood out there that you consider to be hot.
Right now as far as new cats i can only think of Lupe Fiasco and Kanye right off hand. I like kanye despite his ego(i have his recent cd)and a lot of orgers hate him so not everyone is as closed minded about hip hop as you think.
I'll admit me being older now i don't search the underground like i did in the 90's for hip hop. Now I don't know if you feel that the current generation of rap is on par or better than the late 80 thru 90's when you had tribe, brand nubian, de la soul, the pharcyde, snoop, etc. You never made that clear.
If all we're being fed from the media outlets is garbage like a grown ass Nelly parading on stage with a pair of nikes with pants n drawz sagging off his behind, 50 cent's buffoonery, all the young dro, yung joc, young jeezy then you have to understand why people are so down on it. Unfortunately everyone doesn't have the time to camp out in a record store to search for good hip hop if it can be found. People have other interests and priorities.
