Damn, I love this. This is probably the period where I first got interested in Herbie's work, and since I never heard a lot of his real early work prior to Futureshock, I bought what I could of his once I heard these songs. Another jam I really love off of the same album is I thought It Was You ,
I discovered through youtube another version of the song featuring Kimiko Kasai, this is a nice twist to the song. I was having trouble trying to embed the Kimiko clip here, so if you want to hear it please look it up on the tube.

Kool!

Herbie's Original

With Kimiko Kasai

I see that she also did a version of Herbie's "Butterfly":

Feet Don't Fail Me Now, gets a bad rap for it's disco-ness but it's got a couple of funky tracks too...hard to find though...

I was going to ask somebody about this one. I saw that AMG gave it a pretty awful write-up. Love the artwork on that one though.

Before I became familiar with Herbie Hancock's "Come Running to Me" I heard this song that was sampled from Herbie.

I knew somebody else besides Slum Village had sampled this, but I couldn't remember the name--thanks!
