I don't think this is a fan favorite but I like it Reminds me of Christmas 1987,when it was getting alot of airplay on our local R&B station.

when I was putting together a dream setlist for the Confessions Tour,I suggested that "Spotlight" would be a nice song to bring out but some fans thought I was crazy,lol.Anyway,here's a video clip that I found:

It has a similar message to many of her songs: Be the star that you are, go for it, be everything you can be, dream big, express yourself, take what's yours...etc.

The You Can Dance EP is fun, but I tend to skip over this one. I'm too busy thinking about the keyboards on that Into the Groove remix.

This song is an outtake from the 'True Blue' recording sessions.She should have left the horrible "Jimmy Jimmy" behind and added "Spotlight" instead

not a favorite, but not bad. her early music was full of this positive, upbeat "you can make your dreams come true" kind of stuff.
