En Vogue all the way!

They always had style that evryone tried to follow (DC included). If DC was allowed to mature and showcase ALL the members then they may have gotten to the En Vogue/TLC level.

Even En Vogue's worst single "Riddle" sounds better than anything DC ever put out.

Beyonce did NOT bring Prince's career back. That performance at the 04 Grammy's would have been killer WITHOUT Beyonce. Besides, I believe Prince taught Beyonce a thing or 2 about music and performance.

As for the "hating" part...I'm not hating on her because she's "fine" and "super rich". This topic is about which group is better DC or EV. NOT about Beyonce. Besides, many of us here at the org are really tired or Beyonce dominating everything in the media. She needs to take some time off and stay out of the public eye for a while...but we know Matthew won't allow that. Hell, even Jay-Z has tried to get B to drop her management deal with her Dad because he knows that B needs to get to a different level and her father is not capable of getting her to the "mega-superstar" level.

Why did you allow yourself to be baited into that argument? You should not have dignified that with a response.

Contrary to what you believe, Prince was selling out during the ONA tour and other tours prior to ONA.

It may have made him "cool again" for people like yourself, but Prince never went away. He has continuously toured and sold out arenas throughout the country.

That was YOUR theater. Sure, every night was not a sell out, but this tour did well to be a small tour. You must remember that the ONA tour was meant to be a small tour where he could interact with his audience more and warm the band up for the Musicology project. It was also a promotion of TRC. I saw the ONA tour twice and it was amazing both times (and both theaters were sold-out). So, it all depends on where u saw it.

Destiny's Child had four No. 1 singles and 11 top 10 hits on the Billboard R&B Singles charts.

En Vogue had six No. 1 singles and eight top 10 singles, not including their collaboration on Salt N' Pepa's "Whatta Man" and "Free Your Mind," which went top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts but only No. 23 on the R&B charts.

yeah but beyonce by herself adds more...none of them did anything solo

Dawn Robinson did a solo album after lauching with Raphael for Lucy Pearl...although her solo album didnt do anything.

I bought the first single, Envious and thought it was horrible. I didn't buy the solo project (did anyone?).

I bought it too. It wasn't a great album by any means but i liked about
half the songs and trust me in this day and age i've heard far worse.
I don't care what anyone says still was straight fire and should have been
a hit. I emailed her during the time the album was out and much to my surprise
she emailed me back. Since my last name is robinson too, she wondered if we
were related. She has some family in the south. I said i hope not until i
marry you. She said that was cute. Oh and yes the pictures were crazy
sexy.

Between these two: EnVogue hands down. Don't like Destiny's Child or as I used to call them Beyonce and the two dumb bitches.

My favorite girl group from the 90s was TLC mushy ..fun, sexy, great personalities, and all of their albums were good from beginning to end to me. RIP Left Eye pray

SWV and Xscape both had better voices than all the girls in DC IMO.

I never liked Diana Ross, ever since the first time I saw "The Wiz"; and, after reading the book "Motown", I wanted to punch her, so I can't praise the Supremes because of her.

LaBelle was a great girl group that gave us Patti LaBelle, who can wipe the floor with Beyonce vocally. Just my twocents

I can't believe you said that about Patti. Have you ever listened to her body of work?

First, Patti has 40 years of hits. Beyonce only has 10. Patti came from the old school where she had to pay dues. Beyonce didn't have to pay that many dues. Sure, she was groomed from the time she was 8 or 9 to be the entertainer she is now, but come on....

With Patti being 60+ years of age, her voice and performance ability outshines many of her colleagues. If you ever attend a Patti concert, you'll understand. Watching her on television and on dvd does not do her show justice. It is truly a spiritual experience like no other.

Sure, when Beyonce is on stage, she puts on a good show, but she doesn't command an audience like someone like Patti. Beyonce hasn't learned how to command an audience yet. I keep hoping she'll reach that, but I haven't seen it yet. She just gets up and entertains...that's it.

I recommend you grab the last live album that just came out from Patti. It is a show from the early 80s (pre-If Only You Knew). At that point, Patti was in her late 30s and had a purity in her voice like no other. I also recommend her Live cd from 92 or 93.

As for hits, Patti has LOTS of hits starting in the 60s.

If Only You Knew
Love, Need And Want You
If You Don't Know Me By Now (Live)
The Best Is Yet To Come (Performed with Grover Washington, Jr.)
The Spirit's In It
New Attitude
On My Own
When You Talk About Love
Somebody Loves You Baby (You Know Who It Is)
The Bells
Moon Shadow
Lady Marmalade
What Can I Do For You?
You Turn Me One
You Are My Friend
Over The Rainbow
Come What May
When You've Been Blessed
The Right Kind of Lover
Kiss Away The Pain
If You Asked Me To
Yo Mister
Feels Like Another One

This is just the tip of the iceberg. If these aren't hits...I don't know what you would consider one.

lol falloff If Beyonce looked like Tracy Chapman, would you still think she was hot shit? Please, the only reason you like Beyonce is because she's not an ugly chick. Her voice really isn't that much to be screamin praise about. Let her be fugly and I bet your opinion would be waaaay different. Beyonce got to where she is for the same reason Britney Spears and J. Lo got to where they are. Sex sells and when you're willing to roll around half naked on a bed while moaning, of course you're going to be a hit in this day and age. But, it's okay, because Patti can still sing Beyonce under the table no matter how much you worship Mrs. Jigga Man.

Excuse me but Beyonce was part of teenage r&b group... She has nothing to do with Britney or JLo...

The matter of fact, she has never played the sex image untilvery recently...

Her success has never been based on her "sex image" but her singing skills...

And please tell me how many r&b artists these days can outsing and outperform Beyonce ?
