Stevie Wonder Unreleased Recordings With all the excitement of Stevie's long awaited return to Europe it got me thinking about his many unreleased recordings which I've heard so much about. I have his complete studio recordings but am looking for something new to listen to.
Can anyone here advise on a good collection to look out for, maybe a 2 or 4 cd set of outtakes? I'd especially like to hear outtakes from his classic 70s period.

Sadly, none of his outtakes have ever been officially released.I would go absolutely crazy if he ever releases a compilation of his unreleased 70s recordings!

So what's this I keep hearing about some 1974 outtakes that have leaked?

I just went on Youtube to see if I could find those 1974 outtakes I didn't find them but I found something equally exciting. This is a clip of a 1974 Stevie Wonder outtake called "I Can See The Sun In Late December"! He performs it at a concert in Germany, late 1974.The song was later recorded by Roberta Flack but Stevie's version has never been released on any album.

yeah, I know this song and have the performance from "Musikladen". It's great.
But is this considered an unreleased song? he performed it, and later Roberta Flack. There's an early version of Perfect Angel as well. But again, it's not unreleased. I'd define unreleased as "songs that never saw the light of day in ANY form". well, I' LOVE to liste to the snippets as well...

I always felt that Stevie should have kept "Let's Get Serious" for himself and used it as the first song on 'Hotter Than July' (replacing "Did I Hear You Say You Love Me" which is just an okay song).

Nah, Hotter Than July is good enough without it. Jermaine needed it more than Stevie. Hell, a rotting corpse could've taken that song to #1! I think so too, he should have used Serious for himself!

That would have worked, though I like "Did I Hear..." I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

The best part of this song is the bridge, which is sung by Stevie Jermaine sounds good on this song, but if Stevie had recorded/released it himself,it would have been even better.

You're a hard man to please. It was the #1 R&B song of 1980, beating out Michael's "Rock With You." It would've been just another in a long line of hits for Stevie, but instead it's Jermaine's biggest hit. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis
