The "Roxanne Saga" is the first thing I thought of before I opened this thread. There was.....

Roxanne, Roxanne - UTFO
Roxanne's Revenge - Roxanne Shante
The Real Roxanne - The Real Roxanne
Queen Of Rox - Roxanne Shante
Sparky's Turn (Roxanne You're Through) - Sparky Dee

Then too many folks went overboard with it and ran it in the ground. Records started coming out like "Roxanne's A Man". lol

I don't remember an answer record to Billie Jean. I do remember a record the next year called "Do It Again/Billie Jean" by Slingshot which was kind of a remake of the music to "Billie Jean" covered with the lyrics to an old Steely Dan song.

Nope not that one but out just after. I used have that 12" - probably sitting in my 12" collection crates . . .

I forget the name of the answer song by some chick, but I love that mess. lol

I don't know if it's even a whole song so much as random rambling at some show.

Not strictly an "answer record", but Nick Lowe's "All Men Are Liars" references Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up":

Also, the story goes that "This Land is Your Land" was Woody Guthrie's response to "God Bless America".

Reportedly, there were quite a few released soon after Woman To Woman came out.
Outside of the Barbara Mason response I mentioned, the only other one i'm aware of is Man To Woman by Lonnie Youngblood (an early employer of Jimi Hendrix).

Another set that comes to mind.
Get A Job - The Silhouettes
Got A Job - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles

Ran across an interesting album on the subject...

...The Answer to Everything: Girl Answer Songs of the 60s

There's an equivalent Country album.

I remember it lol It's called "Superstar" and it's by a female singer named Lydia Murdock.Released in 1983,it has the same beat as MJ's song, with a chorus that goes....

I'm Billie Jean and I'm mad as hell
I'm a woman with a story to tell
Superstar...you know just who you are
Superstar....you know just who you are

Our local R&B station used to play his song and her song, back to back lol It was up to the listener to decide who was lying and who was telling the truth, lol.
