WHAT IN THE HELL? Kanye must be on drugs.. Look what he wrote on his website!
Soulja boy is fresh ass hell and is actually the true meaning of what hip hop is sposed to be. He came from the hood, made his own beats, made up a new saying, new sound and a new dance with one song. He had all of America rapping this summer. If that ain't Hip Hop then what is? A bunch of wannabe keep it real rappers that ain't even relevant, recycling samples trying to act like it's 96 again and all they do is hate on new shit? Niggas always talk about the golden age but for a 13 year old kid, this is the golden age!!! That song was so dope cause everything he said had a hidden meaning... that's Nas level shit... he just put it over some steel drums which is also some Nas shit if you had the 2nd album cassette with the bonus track "Silent Murder" on it. In closing... new niggas get ya money$$$$$ Keep this shit fresh and original.... ain't no fuckin' rules to this shit and that's what real hip hop is to me.
Wow, he just lost a whole lotta my respect. How can he possibly think that? Did Soulja pay him or something? Lawd.

Kanye's my boy, but he did say that Mase was his favorite rapper so... "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Kanye, yet again, proves he truly is one of the stupidest motherfuckers around
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Kanye is an artist that can only be big in the US, like Oasis can only be big in the UK.
They are psyche bands; they represent their nation to the masses. Kanye, like the US president is full of shite and Oasis, well, they are foul mouthing fella's with a substance abuse problem and a bad taste in women. Nuf said.

Why does his quote surprise anyone??? I never understood why Kanye gets so much freaking love and props from doing nothing at this point, he's got 3 albums and 2 of them are just ok, stop making it like he started some sort of giant movement or brought something we never heard out there, because he didnt. He is just better than the typical shit in the hiphop mainstream, but thats not saying much. He's huge in the UK market and Japanese market also... All of his albums have been great, his first still being his best since it was a more concerted effort and almost every song he produced. [Edited 6/22/08 8:55am]

That's true. He got all his beats from No ID and his early raps from Rhymefest ("Jesus Walks").

That's true. He got all his beats from No ID and his early raps from Rhymefest ("Jesus Walks"). No ID taught Kanye all he knew, but all the beats from The College Drop Out and on have been his originals, though the inspiration is from NO ID.

Sorry as long as he is still sampling, he is getting anything in props from me.
Beats over a number 1 record ain't exactly rocket science. He is overrated and has an ego to make it even worse. this muthafr should take the money and run, until the next Puff Daddy comes along (Sorry Last Dec, had to use your quote, since it is spot on)... MEDIOCRITY AT IT"S BEST! I would expect the rap buying demo of 13-23 Surbuban White Youths to fall for it.. but some of you guys/gals are making me nervous. Music is the best...

I never realized it much until listening to Kanye live on an award show and seeing just how he performs and the HYPE around his performance, its all Puffy. As PRINCE said about groups like Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park, "You can spin it anyway you want but its still hip hop" and to me you can put Kanye on this PEDASTOL but he is just this generations Puffy. Alot of people like Kanye not only for his music, but his way of thinking. So many rappers are pretty one dimensional, but Kanye is different The whole hipster movement is the result of guys like Kanye, Pharrell, and Lupe Fiasco "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. Puffy was moving into Rock and different genres, and different forums like clothing lines and producing others, which is where Kanye and Pharrell have gone too. Its not a knock, its just a leveling of the credit that gets that really should be shared.
