MJ v Justin

OK, seriously this whole comparison thing is totally annoying me! Any1 who has bought Justified and Invincible should know by now who was is and will be the best! The reason MJ is so obviously better is as follows: -

1 He and Quincy invented the whole modern day pop sound 25 years ago, can u believe ppl r still imitating it 2day!

2 Like i love u v Unbreakable, not contest pal!

3 It can be said that in the beginning MJ did use some James Brown moves but he took it to another level, proving that he is better by far than JB! Justin is a karaoke act!

4 Vocally MJ as a 44yr old totally outperforms Justin

5 Musically he outperforms him, Earth Song, Morphine, Stranger in Moscow, Speechless??

+ finally MJ is a genius praised by James Brown Fred Astaire etc etc

NO Contest

Justin gets laid by girls like Britney Spears

Mike gets laid by boys like Mac Culkin.

No contest

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

"the whole modern day pop sound" was invented by Motown on one side, The Beatles/The Kinks on the other

Why is this even a question? Timberfake is a poser. MJ is the real thing.

Oh, and the "modern day pop sound" is a mixture of Rock, Funk and Soul. Both MJ and Prince were at the very forefront of that sound over 20 years ago. Justin Timberfake is doing what MJ and Prince did 2 decades ago, but without the vocal talent, originality, true passion and natural ability.

Have you seen the guy dance? He's TRYING too hard. It's like some robot programmed to do certain steps. It's like Aerobics meets Twister. I'd love to see him try and dance without planned choreography. I heard that when MJ was asked to appear with N'Sync at the MTV awards last year they were practising for 2 weeks and asked him to turn up at rehersals. He said he didn't need to and just burst on stage on the night.

It's all image and marketing now. MJ hasn't got the image and both he and Prince don't really fit into this nice little demographic to package up and market to 12 year olds who are too young to remember when pop music had some quality to it and therefore settle for whatever is thrown at them.

MJ the real thing? There's too much plastic in that package to be real.
MJ and Justin both suck. MJ had it once, but he is something of a joke now.
Prince's guitar gently weeps.

i think its sad now that michael jackson one of the greatest entertainers and musicians of all time has been destroyed by years and years of people in the media jealous that he can sustain a career in the limelight without sucking up their asses the way britney, justin and robbie williams do. Without the stories these people are nothing, if u take the stories away from mj u actually find a cool talented, guy yeah so what he's insecure about his looks after years of his family laughing at him! i would have done the same thing personally if i had the money

Yep, it's all about the MEDIA GAME. If you don't play along with them, they cast you aside. They cast Prince aside. MJ never played with them but he tried to play against them. Simple: They forget about Prince for he is no threat, but they maliciously attack MJ. I can't say he's helped himself a lot in the recent past, but a lot of it should have been dead and buried by now because it's as old and unfunny as a 'Knock Knock' joke.

The media loves anyone who will co-operate with their manipulation of the little celebrity world they have created and shaped. Suck up to them, laugh at their jokes, present awards, do a Saturday Night Live sketch and they will love you for as long as they want (which isn't very long anyway).

The trouble with MJ is that he is FULL of contradictions. It confuses a lot of people as you never know where you stand with him. He says one thing and does another. He can use it to his advantage because his level of fame is higher than anybody else, and to be honest I don't think he cares about the negative stuff anymore. If you'd heard what I heard some journalists saying to his face in the last year, any questions over whether he's oblivious to what people say about him would be gone.

Justin Timberlake et al aren't quite there yet, and haven't the talent to reach that high. Justin is playing the game right now, dropping names of all these credible and non threatening acts as his influences, trying to cling onto some audience other than screaming teenage girls. But the day a grown man cries at the sight of Justin is the day someone says that Geri Haliwell is more talented than Prince, and says it with a straight face wink

this is a Bad Thread IMHO.Michael Jackson did More as a Kid than Justin Timberlake has done Period.and as Adults? Forget about it.not many Cats Past or Present could hang with MJ at 21-23.Justin Timberlake barely can be mentioned in the same Breath as Usher.Damn Justin Timberlake is doing what Sisqo did a few years earlier.MJ can be Frustrating as a Artist with some of His Choices but Come On Michael Jackson is a Great Artist&made everybody take Notice.Justin is too Much of a Act that I still feel that you can find 50 Cats in your City&do the same thing He does.

No offense, but the fact that you would seriously take the time out to list things and compare the two sort of shows a bit of insecurity. To even mention someone like Timberlake along the same lines as someone like Michael Jackson is insane. Timberlake hasn't shown anything more than being an apprentice at this point. And I haven't been a Michael Jackson fan for at least 20 years.

MJ is still doing the same moves he was doing years ago.
Check out the new Missy video. If Prince was doing the same things now that the imitator is doing in the video, ie., the exagerated sexuality, he would look as ridiculous as MJ does now.
My point is that Prince has moved forward and MJ hasn't. Justin Timberlake just might be better at copying the old Michael Jackson than Michael Jackson himself. Cause at 44, the moonwalking just ain't gettin' it.
I'm just thankful that Prince isn't still humping the floor at his concerts or using props like the ejaculating guitar. It was great fun back in the day, but he'd look truly sad doing it now. Prince has put the emphasis on his brilliant musicianship and is playing and sounding better than any other time in his career.
Michael Jackson just keeps on moonwalking back to his past.

Just wondering, does Michael actually moonwalk in any of the videos for his singles, i can't be arsed to go watch them all right now to find out but i'm certain he doesn't. How odd!

Well, i remember you once calling suby a paki in a thread long ago, so rather her than you!

And for someone who hates MJ so much you sure like writing about him.

When was the last time you saw MJ in concert? The reason I ask is because,I keep seeing people criticizing his stage performances when HE HASN'T REALLY TOURED SINCE THE EARLY 90s! I guess you're basing these comments on his "30th Anniversary Celebration" concert. But,that was meant to be a "celebration" of his career, that's why he was doing those same moves. It was supposed to be a night of nostalgia and looking back at an amazing career which spans over 30 years. You can't possibly use that *ONE* performance when evaluating his stage antics and dance moves. If he were to do a full-fledged world tour,I'm sure he would have many new surprises up his sleeves.

Also, MJ hasn't done many dance videos for a while, but when he does (In the Closet, Scream, Blood on the Dancefloor) he's throwing moves he ain't ever done b4 so for peeps who say all his moves are old...Get a Life!

Exactly. Also, MJ is not just ant old performer - his name and style is a brand, like Coca Cola. He's so distinctive and is recognised EVERYWHERE across the globe, and I guess that's what a lot of legends are made of.

BTW, has anyone ever seen the They Don't Care About Us "Prison" video? The one that got banned. It's stunning!

VH-1 have shown a cut down version in the past, but never the full uncut version in all its glory sad I think I have the proper one on tape.
And for anyone who says that MJ does the same dance moves, I recommend finding some old episodes of the Jacksons TV show. His range of styles and spontaneity was quite remarkable. When he just jumps in with professional tap dancers every week with little rehersal time - as John Landis once said, "he's Fred Astaire", but the public never get to see his full ability.
