The Confessions album is full of soundalike songs of previous hits. If she doesn't sample (Hung Up), it's Get Together (Music Sounds Better With You), Future Lovers (I Feel Love) and so on, where the songs are essentially the same but no one's credited. It's one of the reasons why I'm not a huge fan of that album, as I feel it's one of her least artistic works.

all the others i hear (there's also genius of love on Push), but i never got the Jump comparison. Its reminiscent of PSBs, but i just dont hear a copy. Also i let her off for the Music Sounds Better with u one, as that in itself borrowed from Holiday.

Well, you don't hear PSB in Jump, I don't hear Holiday in MSBWY - I guess that makes us even lolwink You listen to some fans (I'm not speaking of you!) and EVERY damn dance-pop song "sounds like Holiday", I swear.

Yeah well thats true - Madge has some crazy gans. I've had as long an argument as i could stomach with a couple on a fan forum about how she changed nothing of the pharrell demos. they're convinced her touch of magic changed the songs completely - unable to accept that all she did was add a few lyrics and her voice. Thats why i generally prefer talking about Madonna on this forum - a slightly better grip on reality.

i think its in the chord progression of MSBWY that reminds me of holiday (ditto get together).

well, I don't know who wrote the MELODY for Jump, but Pharrel wrote the whole music and melody to Heartbat, Spanish Lesson and Ring My Bell. Madonna just did the lyrics.

On COADF she might have had more input. Stuart probably gave her just the music and Madonna came up with the melody. But only maybe.
She thought of the Pet Shop Boys because it's the same chord change as in West End Girls (near he beginning)

The Pet Shop Boys wrote the melody for Jump when they wrote the melody for West End Girls.

I don't see the similarity between West End Girls and Jump melody.

The C-D-E chord change comes at teh end of WEG where Neil sings: "West End Girls.... East End Boys..."

The WEG chorus is Am7 and Bm7
