FastLove Made Me Dig George Michael Again..! (FastLove Appreciation)

Today, June 21st 2008, ends my 2 year burn out with George Michael's music.
I heard "FastLove" and I just started vibing with it.

I'd like to make this thread for people to talk about how much they love this track. I even dig the little "Forget My Nots" part towards the end. How awesome.

Love love love this song.

bboy - I guess you were right. Can't not dig George Michael forever. biggrin

THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG EVER!!!!!

I must have listened to it over 1000 times within 2 years. I listened to it a whole year and each day a few times.

this song turned me into a GM fan!

I liked it as a child, but didn't know who it was. 8 years later I found out who made this excellent song and well...

it means so much to may... it's about a gay guy seeking sex and not a love affair... i don't want to be ignorant but I think this song is written for all male gay people!!

Dance

Um, that song is like ten years old...wth

but yeah, it's hot

Anyway though he should be more respected as an artist than he seems to be. Maybe if he'd stay out of the bathrooms...

nod I was pointing that out to people at the time, but most people didn't want to hear it. George was dropping some blindingly obvious hints with this song and video, but incredibly, the public mostly missed it. lol

And yes, this is an EXCELLENT song. One of the best of his career. music

The video with the half naked pretty boys on the bed in leather pants was a pretty big clue. And of course, the biggest hint was George's dancing which is the gayest I've ever seen in a music video. lol

I remember Chris Evans interviewing him that year and asking if he was gay. George spent about three hundred years responding to the question without actually answering it. That was when I knew beyond any doubt that he was batting for the other team. The surprising thing was when I spoke to other people who heard the same interview. When I mentioned it, they just thought it was a silly question. They couldn't conceive that someone who they'd grown up with could possibly be gay. I was like "WTF?! No straight man would've responded to the question like that."

Craig David is a similar case, but that's for another thread.

Ever since seeing "Wham!" videos and when I first got to know about George's music (1988), I was aware that there was something different about him. So when he finally came out in 1998 it made sense.

I LOVE that song! I was dancing in my seat on Thursday. Unfortunately being in nose bleed but in the 2nd row, I didn't stand until "Everything She Wants." I play it all the time.

"I knoe you're practicing the same relegion"...

another hint. The whole OLDER album was sooo obvious. I became a fan in 2004, when it was no big sceret that GM's gay. But I think´in 1996 and with this album it would have been pretty obvious.

That video is so damn erotic it makes no damn sense although the song is brilliant. I mean its like 10 years old but that part with the girl and the blow dryer is so damn sexy for some odd reason...I also noticed the other day while watching it that the dancers had on Evisu outfits.

Hands down this is one of my favorite George songs. His voice is so smooth and it has such a hot beat. Love the use of the sample too. Doesn't hurt that he looks amazing in the video as well.

The song is very simple regardless of sexuality. I think it had specific meaning for him going through the loss of his love. "I miss my baby"

I love this song too.
When I first heard it I remember understanding the gay "between the lines" message immediately... Well, U guess for straight people that was a little more difficult since they practice monogamy... lol

After the video, it was plain simple...

BTW, the guy in the video was the same who appears in Madonna's Justify My Love, right?

For all my gay friends and horny female friends, he's got some...er...very stimulating photos that he did at the beginning of his career that, uh, AHEM, speaks for itself:

I go back and forth on this one. Back in the day, I was pretty hardcore with it. Then, I don't know, a month after it was out, I kind of started hating it. In the years since, I sometimes hear it and it sets in motion a whole George Michael obsession-phase. And at other times, I just don't really care for it that much.

This was his last bonafide US hit, wasn't it?

I have the same dilemma. Older and LWPv1 are my two favorites. (Which is weird considering Faith is what he is most known for. Kinda like his Thriller)

What did you guys think of Patience and his new track, "An Easier Affair?"

Patience is alright. I think I'd like it better if a few songs were axed.

Don't really like any of the new stuff from Twenty-Five. It all seems half-assed.
