Have N.E.R.D ever made a true funk record?

I've yet to hear one, although as a producer I think Pharrell can deliver the funk.

Are there albums worth checking out or is it all shit?

I think the bassline from "T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S." is their funkiest bassline. but it's not NERD of course...
Well NERD is more of a rock band, isn't it? but their new record is funkier than their last two albums I think!

my brother said their music "sucks" and that pharrell can not produce an album for himself.. cause his own songs are just garbage...

I also think his music sounds like unfinished demos... like he needs to add a few more layers.. or even mix the sounds better and more professional....

They haven't made anything close to a funk record. lol Love their first album, and the second was a waste. I've heard Time for Some Action, and it ain't even funky.

Run TO The Sun was probably the most funk they have had on both albums so far..being more of a rock / pop / rap band...with some obvious black styles.
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

I expect it..

After Outkast went there, alot of rappers and producers delved into the genre..

So you can expect a "LoverSpeaker/FutureBoxxx/?"

type of thing... lol lol lol

Seeing Sounds is more of them combining In Search Of... and Fly or Die. Which turned out to be great!

I like him as a producer, but his songwriting on this one is blah and his singing is annoying.

"You Know What" could be considered a bass song can't it? Strong bass, guitar riffs, eff.

Then I'm pretty suprised because N.E.R.D. fits exactly in that mode.

I'm what people call a hipster so I love their stuff lol

I have heard the new album several times...Unfortunately It reminds me of the Gnarles Barkley album or the last Kravitz..It just doesn't keep my interest for very long...There are a few cool tunes..2-3 but a WHOLE HELL OF A LOT OF THROWAWAY material...Bridges and middle 8's that just seem Tacked onto a groove...Out of tune vocals...Thoughtless lyrics..really Unimaginative songwriting...The Music industry is hurting bad.... sad

Dance

Have they ever made a record?

When have they actually gone in the studio and not ripped someone else off?

When have they gone in the studio and did anything other than the same tired "beat" they've sold to 545334868940586094905685486 different acts with adjusted handclaps, whistles, car horns, and heavy breathing?

Please don't put these tools and funk in the same sentence. Pharret wouldn't know funk if it was on the tip of his boyfriend's...
