Okay, this is something I've been thinking a lot about recently - and I'm pretty sure I'll change my mind in the next five minutes - but of ALL the artists you love, who has released the best run of singles? In your opinion.


They don't necessarily have to be your most beloved artist/band; maybe they're one you admire from afar. Or they're in the top tier of your favourite acts. But which one has had that killer string of singles? You know, the one other musicians would kill for.


Present your case. Give us all a reason to go out and buy their Best Of.

I'm pretty much torn...on one hand, there's Prince of course. Wow, wow, wow. But I feel he has made some odd single choices over the last 10/15 years (not so much recently, though).


Then there's Bowie. Good lawd. Add all those together and that's one HELL of a collection. It was actually listening to Bowie the other day ('The Heart's Filthy Lesson') that made me think of this.


Or there's the Bee Gees. Amazing songs, killer melodies.


The Beatles, Stones, Elvis, Stevie, Madonna...

Mariah Carey

Madonna and Hall and Oates come to mind.
