The way underrated / forgotten Karl Wallinger aka World Party! Letting the music do the speaking:
Private Revolution: Sinead on backing vocals, Princely synths, a powerfull message within a quirky, joyfull tune. http://www.youtube.com/wa...yarL2iPeEM From the same, debut album: Ship of fools, a bit darker, but so right on spot. http://www.youtube.com/wa...deIZkZo2PM Is it too late baby? From his 1989 masterpiece and second album 'Goodbye Jumbo', a live performance, coupled with Radio days, from his more dance'-orientated' album 'Bang'. http://www.youtube.com/wa...k-H5FOSlS8 Way down now: In 'Rolling Stones' mode, from the Goodbye Jumbo album http://www.youtube.com/wa...D4cGH44Ngc Put the message in the box: Beatlesque pop from the Goodbye Jumbo album http://www.youtube.com/wa...DQeXpIaPpE Give it all away: Frantic dance-pop from his album 'Bang' http://www.youtube.com/wa...5KiZ8Jp-JM A more relaxed ditty from the 'Bang' album with some thoughtfull lyrics: http://www.youtube.com/wa...1mtxibzN4Q Almost an musical ode to John Lennon, She's the one, from his 4th album Egyptology, made popular by Robbie Williams: http://www.youtube.com/wa...djdOPK9zXo A colourfull slice of Beatlesque / ELO-like pop (nice video also) from his album Egyptology: Call me up http://www.youtube.com/wa...p3DPvCnX60 Here comes the future: funky pop from his latest album, Dumbing up: http://www.youtube.com/wa...gw4Scrk_-E Finally, another one from the Goodbye Jumbo album: Thank you world,I love these lyrics! http://www.youtube.com/wa...XZAuWYbtOw [Edited 6/17/08 18:30pm] [Edited 6/17/08 18:38pm]

You really should.
His / their third album 'Bang' mixes acoustic pop with more dance-orientated stuff in a suprising way. The reprise of 'Give it all away' reminds me a lot of Prince, the song Positivity especially. Their 4th album Egyptology is quite dark, with obvious touches of Bob Dylan and revolver-era Beatles, an album that takes some time to get into, but pays off in the end. Their last album, Dumbing up, is a bit too polished and predictable for my own taste, but nonetheless their are some great pieces of songwriting and arranging to be find on that album.
