Really everybody should read the whole article because Omarion admitted that Chris used to hit the B2K boys anywhere if he felt they were getting out of hand and some other foolishness...

Is the whole article anywhere on the net?

I'm not saying Stokes isn't a perv, but I think we all remember how "delicate" that boy looked. He was like Nell Carter or somebody's auntie. I'm just saying, it probably didn't take much to get him to makeout with Marques.

And again, in a situation like this what about the parents? Not only is Chris disgusting, but these people pimped their kids out. I know with one or more of those groups he "managed," there was a member or two that left obviously because the parents found out. I don't know if he paid them off or what really happened, but the parents deserve everything Strokes will get.

The Quindon story has been out there for some time now. I first read about it like 3 years ago

Did you learn about it from these posts?

http://community.livejour...26236.html

The majority of the things mentioned there, were confirmed by the testimonies in the Vibe article.

I guess this guy will be replacing R.Kelly in the courtroom.

Christ.

The industry is not safe for young people. I don't know if it ever was. But between this guy and Lou Pearlman and all those other not-yet-named fucks, it's amazing any parent would let their kid into the business.

I have been reading this lengthy article and at this very moment, I don't know what to think about these situations. It's gotten to the point where people are quite possibly spreading lies. It's just sad that young people are becoming degraded and misused by cold and heartless record executives nowadays. It all boils down to this question: where in the hell were these kids' parents? Sad!

You know, I guess it's not fair to paint all the parents as money hungry pimps.

There is a segment of them that are in a horrible position in their lives. Some of them have mental health issues, drug problems as a result of problems they can't/couldn't control, domestic abuse issues, or other problems that landed them in the street. It's these parents/families that some of these industry monsters seek out(just like other abusers)when they're holding these little talent shows or scouting. They know some of these people are so gone, damaged, or clueless that they won't ask questions, and it's not just about abuse it's the contracts and work as well. There are parents out there who are sharks for their kids and who have kids with real talent. These are the parents that are in everything, and they're the last ones these people would ever mess with.

I'm sorry, but I've got to question the motives of anyone who'd put their child to work like that. I know a lot of people are not aware of the sharks lurking around, but once you find out, why would you stay? There are so many stories floating around about kids being with a certain manager or producer for YEARS and being abused or taken advantage of. Surely the parents can't have been so oblivious they'd just leave things be.

But you are right -there are a lot of families that have gotten into the business that are in dire straits in one way or another and are taken advantage of by the people claiming to help them.

I know of one guy in the business who was in a situation where there was all kinds of shady shit going on with his manager, but the alternative (leaving and retruning to where he was before) would have been 10X worse.

Yes there are stage parents/parents so greedy and sick that they would look the other way and much like those families in a terrible position, those are the ones the industry seeks.

I think there's a difference though between putting your child to work and taking advantage of a good thing. If your kid is a ham and happens to attract a scout, why not cart them off to a shoot on the weekend and build up junior's college fund? If your child seriously enjoys performing and someone feels so strongly about their talent that they want to support them in taking it further, why not? There's a line that the good ones know exists, but like I said the industry isn't checking for them.

nod Like Brandy's momma, Sonya. One of my best friends used to work at Atlantic and did A&R for Brandy. Her mother was notorious for staying on top of them (to the point of annoyance) and getting her own lawyer to review EVERYTHING since Brandy was a child. Say what you want about they asses now, but nobody in the biz took advantage of Brandy or Ray J. when Sonya was handling their business and I doubt they'll ever go broke.

thats exactly what i was thinking, theres the one part that says "the parents were kept @ a distance" and the boys stayed in homes bought 4 them (where they lived w/ each other under stokes watch) as opposed to w/ their parents - i really dont see how they could allow this. i think of myself as a 17 yr old and if i was in this situation my mom would be raising hell - first off, i'd be living w/ her and on the off chance that she did let me live w/ the group she'd be raising pure hell if ANYONE tried to keep her @ a distance
