A shocking article has been published in this month's issue of Vibe Magazine. In it, the magazine takes an in depth look at the life of Chris Stokes - including the allegations of abuse levied last year by former B2K member Raz B and his brother Ricky Romance.

There are many interesting things in the article - including their description of how Chris Stokes would completely control B2K's lives (including not allowing them to have girlfriends) and how they suspect that Raz B and Ricky Romance were paid off to retract their statements.

The most shocking part of the article to be the interview with Chris Stokes' former artist Quindon Carter (best known for his remake of Prince's When Doves Cry).



Here are some excerpts:

Tarver's first meeting of Chris Stokes:

When Chris Stokes met Quindon Tarver, Stokes asked him to belt something out on the spot. He was impressed by the boy's silky, anointed voice. "He told my mom he wanted to fly us to L.A.," Tarver says. But there was another thing Stokes needed to mention. "I'm getting ready to go to court on a molestation charge," Tarver says Stokes told him and his mother, "but it's not true and I'm going to win it."

Here's Tarver on getting signed:

"It happened like overnight," Tarver recalls with awe in his voice. Stokes promised him he'd win a Grammy, but says Tarver, "everything just started going downhill after my first album." Tarver claims that lots of money was lost and jealously started to unfold with he and Strokes.

Looking back, he says he was "manipulated," "cheated," and "sabotaged" by Stokes. But according to Tarver, the damage to his career was just the beginning. "I have had some things that haunted me for quite some time," he says, his voice in a whisper. "He is a very dirty, rotten guy."

And Tarver goes into detail:

"For a certain amount of years, I was molested. I wouldn't say exactly by Chris, but he would organize it." Tarver stops speaking. It sounds like he's hyperventilating. "He'd organize activities to be done as he sat and watched ... Watching or coaching, if you will.

He would make another member of [Immature] like come and do things ... Oh my God. Four years. It was rough."

Tarver says Stokes made him take showers with the other boys. He says Stokes would ask him, "Who do you think of at night when you masturbate?" He says Stokes made him and Marques Houston kiss each other. "[I can take] a lie detector test, anything," he says. "This is just a little bit of the things I went through."

Damn that's some messed up shit! This was one sick man...

More about this Quindon guy:

He studied at the Collin County Community College in his home town of Plano, Texas. After finishing the Quad C Theatre program, he started a gig with Chris Stokes, who's responsible for acts such as Immature, Gyrl, Monteco, and MQ3.

Quindon appeared in the music video of Madonna's Like A Prayer, as part of the choir in the church.

His Virgin Records debut album featured the songs "It's You That's On My Mind" and "Dream About You". He is most recognized for his 1997 cover of Prince's "When Doves Cry", for the film Romeo + Juliet as well as his performance on the chorus of "Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)" for the same film and its subsequent remix "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" (though only on the album version since both the edit and video version lack the chorus).


He also auditioned for the seventh season of American Idol, and was eliminated in the Hollywood rounds.

He has a great voice also. I hope he comes back. This story, on the other hand, is very sad.

I read that Devante pimped the ladies of his recording crew(Sista, Tweet, etc etc) to high profiled people in the biz. I'm not even sure about K-Ci, I read an old rumor about him pimping Mary J @ some point, and also keeping her in-line by supplying her with drugs(I don't want to believe it, but with these guys, anything is possible).

How old were these kids during these alleged incidents with Chris Stokes, and what kind of sociopath evil is Chris's soul that he could easily intimidate and coerce those boys to do what they described, I'm not sure he would be alive now if half of what he is accused of was true, somebody's father or uncles would have had to handle him.

I do not remember Ginwuine saying he got shot. I doubt anybody would admit to something like that. I know Ginwuine and Missy both said he liked pointing loaded guns at them and sometimes he fired off a few rounds into the walls of the studio. I would hope they both had enough sense to get away from this guy before anyone got shot.
