Once In A While - The Chimes

I heard this classic tune at the gas station the other day...

...by the Brooklyn Doo-Wop group The Chimes. (1961)

The tune was originally a hit for Tommy Dorsey in 1937.
This beautiful melody has been covered hundreds of times...

...From Sarah Vaughn to Toots Thielemans (starts off with For My Lady)

A few others (vocalists & instrumentalists) that have covered the tune...

Nat King Cole
Errol Garner
Clifford Brown
Art Tatum
John Coltrane
Rahsaan Roland Kirk
Johnny Hartman
Willie Nelson
Johnny Mathis
Louis Armstrong
Roy Hargrove
Fats Domino
The Platters
Bing Crosby

...Which just goes to show that a beautiful melody goes a long way. cloud9
