I stopped supporting THRILLER. Not Michael Jackson. How could I stop supporting him when he isn't even releasing anything new? There's nothing to support. But yeah, fuck Thriller. I'm sick of it.

Everybody's sick of Thriller. lol

WHAT!?! Fishbone have homophobic stuff on their albums? Oh hell naw. If there's ANYTHING I hate is people who don't have tolerance for all people regardless of who they are. That's just low. disbelief

yeah, check out the "me gay? no way!" song on their "reality of my surroundings" album. if their "heterosexual celebration" song doesn't completely puke you out, there's more where that came from on their next album. screw them.

disbelief UNBELIEVABLE! disbelief

Well, I never consciously stopped supporting an artist it just sorta happened over time as I lose interest and buying their music is no longer on my checklist.

I haven't bought a Janet or Michael CD in years and I won't buy anything forthcoming from MJ unless it's really slamming. I too was disappointed with Mariah's last release but I haven't given up on her completely. She has the best chance of of doing better.

But that's how I thought Discipline was gonna be. I was really hyped. It almost felt like old times. I was able to overlook the little things and was down for the ride. But the ride bucked me off earlier than expected. I hope she does get it together but then part of me wonders if I'm just trying to recapture something that is long past.

something about Mary annoys me confused

I love Mary, so much.

She's the REAL disciple of Billie Holiday, had Billie turned her life around. Both women showed their selves in their music.

But lately, her music has been putting me to sleep.

Fine sounds like a long commercial for GAP products.

It's just seems that she's still on that "No More Drama" attitude. Yeah Mary, we know you went through hell, but you gotta get on up and speak about the good times, boo lol

I did too. I still love Mary but it just seems she still talks about that period in her life often. I ain't trying to have a sad image of "Murry" in my mind! I want my Murry slammin folks down with that voice.....in a full fur coat and hat lol

Same with Michael, if I hear one more "the press hates me" song, I swear I'm gonna go to Vegas and hit him in the back of the head with a sock full of nickels lol

Fishbone.

I used to be a big Fishbone fan in college until they started putting homophobic references in several of their songs. I'm not gonna spend money to have some idiots call me a fag on CD over and over. No band is THAT good. hmph!

I will admit that I still love the Truth & Soul album, but I sold all but one of my CDs by them and to be honest, I never listen to it anymore.

It's a shame because otherwise, I thought they were a really cool band. I just can't get past the homophobia.

This is what I'm talking about. With Amy's recent video and MJ with his Jew rants, I can't say I'm a fan anymore, but I still own the records. Now if some of the stuff they said actually leaked onto their recordings then like you, I would have to give those up as well.

Yep. Whitney Houston. After I found out that she was smoking all the money away or putting it up her nose, I couldn't support her anymore. I refuse to pay for her to get high.

Personally, I don't get fans who continue to support their favorite artists after they make racist statements, get caught doing seriously illegal and harmful shit to themselves and/or others, or just seem to only care about the money they get instead of their beauty of their crafts ....but that's just my twocents .

hell yea evillol

though honestly, i only stop supporting an artist if they said or did something fucked up.

back then i actually bought Britney's records, untill she made the dumb statement on the Iraq war. thats when i not only stopped buying her records, but threw her stuff that i owned in the bin.

That pretty much sums it up for me why I stopped supporting Prince. I don't want to support the JWs with my money as I don't agree with them and I don't want to support him either as IMO he doesn't respect his fans and only cares about the money instead of his music.
With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

right...i understand that people say fucked up things when they're on lots of drugs and under duress...that doesn't make it excuseable, but it doesn't necessarily make their thoughts rational either, so i can dismiss that bullshit. it's another thing altogether to arrange hateful messages into a studio recording and send it out into the world. that's more than a drunken/stoned slip of the tongue. that's deliberate and boastful assholery.

Im guessing by "support" you are meaning going to shows, buying their new albums. I really havent tossed anyone aside like that mainly because i try to avoid people that come out today and everyone is on them like they are the greatest thing ever and then they are gone, no longevity, no catalog of work to base anything on. So there isnt anyone like that, but i would say Mariah and Janet are nearing it with me. Mariah just has gotten so "tired" with these albums and singles being nothing more than a checklist of hot producers and big duets for this month, plus her sex appeal has drpped a million %% with this record, her recent weight loss is way too much. As for Janet really the same thing, but Janet just really fell into this trap where she pushed aside "pop" in favor of this new breed rythym pop, and her singing has sounded like she isnt really even interested in doing the records, almost like she knows.

I haven't given up Mariah yet, but I do have to admit that I was not all that impressed by E=MC2. As for the weight loss, Mariah looks hot as hell! Her body makes me like this excited drool drooling horny jerkoff but her most recent album makes me feel like this. rolleyes bored I would just like her to do a nice grown up album next time out.

I guess that I gave up on R.E.M. and Pearl Jam though. I was huge fans of both bands, and while I still listen to them occasionally, my interest in them began to wane around the late 1990s. And Whitney's drug problems really made me lose interest in her, though I'm hoping for a huge comeback from her,
