S.O.S. Band - "Borrowed Love" From the 1986 album, Sands of Time. This one didn't chart Hot 100 but peaked at #14 on the R&B chart. Of the four S.O.S. Band albums that Jam & Lewis worked on, this one was most heavily influenced by their sound. It's my favorite of those albums. Love the artwork, too. It reminds me of the Yes album covers. Too much 80's cheese goin' on Yeah, don't watch - just listen. It's like they thought they could soften all that pink and pastel by putting them in the middle of some concrete. Didn't work.

Borrowed Love is hot though. Did u like Nothing But The Best I do. The intro drums remind me of a softer version of the Control intro. It's no secret How I feel about...you and me Don't wanna lose the love I found I'm not crazy Maybe just in love Be with me I'm gonna give you... Nothing but the best Cute song. Not deep at all but the production is classic J&L.

Never cared for that one. Of their Jam and Lewis work, I mainly like "Just Be Good To Me", "Just The Way You Like It" and "For Your Love". I prefer their music before Jam and Lewis. Andy is a four letter word.

Borrowed Love wasn't a bad song it was just too much like
the others. They had already run their course imo with just be good to me. That's why i think people kind of just snooze at it when you talk about it now. Even when you sleep and No lies were the gems on this album. I actually felt Just the way you like it was their best album. Don't laugh at my funk

I think a lot of people feel they'd run their course by this album, but I still love it. This wasn't my fave song on there (Even When You Sleep and The Finest are), but I like it. Don't care much for No Lies at all really. It's pretty repetitive and the rhythm guitar in the middle of the song is taken right from Take Your Time.

I never cared for "Borrowed Love" because it's a soundalike to "Just Be Good to Me" and "Just the Way You Like It." However, I did like the "Sands of Time" album. My favorite songs were:
1.) "The Finest" 2.) "Nothing But the Best" 3.) "Even When You Sleep" 4.) "Sands of Time" 5.) "No Lies" [Edited 6/17/08 10:11am]

That's true about no lies being a little repetitive but it sounds amazing. It has more life than borrowed love. If you see S.O.S live now, they open the show with a bang performing No Lies and Mary Davis saaangs the hell out of it. It is their funkiest tune behind Take your time. Don't laugh at my funk

That said, it was still a very good show. Mary still sounds excellent. It was a packed show, too! I had a good time.
